Okay, so I had WoW about a year or two ago, and had way too much fun/no fun. It was a ton of fun, but ultimately slow and, well, slow. Well, maybe that is because I literally created (and deleted) dozens and dozens of low level characters, my main Mage (Aydenn) is about 38 or so. |

Look, I played WoW for two and a half years. How was I ever able to stop? After a while, watching all those parkour videos on youtubue gets to you. It ended up with me saying "Geeze, I really want to do that.." So I did. I started going to the gymnastics center on Teusdays to learn flips and rolls and spins, I started running at the park, I'd swim a little farther out at the beach than previously, and hike mile after mile of winding mountain trail. Generally speaking, I got in shape, and loved the benefits of that so much more that I dropped WoW all together. You can level a virtual character in a video game, or you can level yourself in real life. If you want to quit, there's nothing better to do, in my opinion, than to find something else that allows you to interract with your realworld environment, and hopefully give you some other real world skill. |

well the thing is that you have to balance between the two. If you really want to get out of wow set up a schedule between work, friends, family and Wow. Slowly cutting Wow out of the schedule. Also try thinking what else you can do with that $15 a month. |

Think about it like this. WoW is so retarded people actually believe the word "train" originates from it. |
|
Okay, shifting the focus a little, what are the ways that you have managed your playtimes? |

How I shifted my playtime is picking up a new hobby. Mine was paintball. You should try something new. |
|
That is my strategy right now. I get a good start on a hobby I have and when I can't think of anything but that hobby throw WoW in there for free time. I wouldn't call my Parkour a hobby in that regard as it would not be smart to ask myself to decide between running and playing a game. |

When I wanted to overcome my addiction to Runescape, I just looked at it like this: If I could put all this time into training my "virtual self" just think what if I could train my "real self" that would actually be worth while, grab some weights and get your strength level up |

I agree with the others that you should choose a hobby to distract you from WoW, but, with saying that you can still play casually as you do with halo. |

LD count: 75
(17 DEILDs, 54 DILDs, 4 WILDs)
Dump WoW for FPS. Don't bother playing any MMO's unless they are a MMOFPS. FPS is safer, less addictive, and you can take your stress out pretending the other guys are the people you hate. Become pro at fps and become pro at hating. |
|
Just play halo, it's a decently awesome game, and it takes far less time. When you stop playing, you really stopped playing. There isn't a virtual world still running wherein you can lag behind / still have to do stuff. |

If you keep playing WoW, this is going to happen to you. |
|
Again, if I play without moderation. |

Become great at LD and play in your sleep. Problem solved... you can spend the remaining 1/3rd of your life playing WoW |
|
You're just going to have to realise that it's sad you're playing so much and it costs alot. Then you'll realise "Hey this is crap, I need to get out more." |

I played WoW on and off for 2 years across several level 70s, a handful of servers and a smattering of high end raiding guilds. I have a lot of fond memories, but I wasted so much of my life in that game and I wish I could take it back. |
