      Metalheads!

      Hai!

After conducting a quick search on the forums I have found what seems to be quite the lack of metalheads on here

Since I refuse to believe I'm the only one, anyone else here?
If so, give me some of your favorites, all time best gig, or subgenres in general... and maybe some bands you think I reeeeally should know, I'm always searching for new eargasms.

For me personally, alot goes, from the more folky metal to death metal, symphonic black, progressive, melodic death, thrash, etc.
Think Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Lamb of God, Behemoth, Moonsorrow, Airbourne, Eluveitie, Chtonic, Zimmer's Hole, Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, Children of Bodom, etc etc..

      So...shoot!

I wouldn't say I'm a metal head, but I definitely like metal and hard rock. Most of the time I just listen to the fundamental bands, like Slayer, Judas Priest and Pink Floyd.
On my playlist, I have a lot of bands, though some of them I only listen to on rare occasions. Anyway, here's a complete list, to give you an idea of my taste:

      Rob Zombie
      VETO
Black Stone Cherry (more hard rock ish)
      SOiL (same)
      Disturbed
      SlipKnot
      Slayer
      Judas Priest
Dragon Force (I very rarely listen to these guys)
      KoRn
      Pantera (I love these guys)
      Tool (love these too)
      Mnemic (danish band)
Barricades (danish band you couldn't possibly have heard of. Ever.)
Apocalyptica (got tired of these guys pretty quick)
      Rage Against The Machine
      Sepultura
Clutch (not really metal, but most metal heads listen to them I'd imagine)
      Deep Purple
      Pink Floyd

I also listened to the more melodic and orchestral at one point, like Dimmu Borgir, but I got kind of tired of them and the whole style. Somebody showed me Amon Amarth once, and I just bursted into laughter at how ridiculous they were.

Anyway, generally I like thrash (Slayer), just straight up heavy metal (Judas Priest) and alternative stuff (Tool/Pink Floyd). KoRn was the band through which I got into metal, but nowadays I don't like them too much any more. They have some gems that I still listen to of course

Hmmh, knew everything on your list except indeed Barricades Just gave them a listen on myspace and for a first listen it sounds kinda nice! (Just have a slight problem with the "christian" part in the description, but I seem to have a problem with christianity in general so that's just me:p)

Haven't listened to Mnemic in years, so thanks for putting that back onto my radar! And oh yeah, Clutch is pretty awesome

Oh cool, they made a new track. I got one of their albums from a christian friend of mine. They played at a summer camp or something like that. I don't like their vocals particularly much, but I listen to them occasionally.

Well a band you defiantly should know is Armed For Apocalypse. I saw them recently with As I lay Dying, Carnifax, and Unearth. That show was sick. But being in the pit for the American Carnage Tour was sick. It was old metal bands, Testament, Megadeth, and Slayer. I really like Lamb of God and Children of Bodom as well. Mastodon is really great to. I also like System of a Down but they are more alternative.

      Cool thread btw.

I like to think of myself as a metalhead but probably am not considered one by you guys since I like mostly hard rock, altern and metalcore. Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine, System of a Down, Killswitch Engage, Otep, Metallica, Old Linkin Park, Muse, that sort of shit... death metal elitists may now hate away

Never let an elitist tell you that you are not "tr00 metal" because there is no such thing

Nice list you got going And a couple of bands on there I've never heard of, but that's mostly going to be deathcore things. Thanks! Got alot to check out now

EDIT: If I have to name a favorite out of the ones I didn't know right now (haven't checked it all out yet), it's gonna be Winds of Plague, musically they're really nice Oh and "We butter the bread with butter" is *WTF*. Kinda funny tho
