Thread: Anyone Play Roller Coaster Tycoon?

I actually used to play Roller Coaster Tycoon the original (with expansions). I have serious doubt that RCT3 is better than the original, since the original was the most epic theme park sim I've ever played (its lack of 3D was actually pretty awesome), but then again, I've never played RCT3. ... Its not like people can play the original anyways; it is no longer compatible with newer systems. Old games are strange like that

In the original, you could make death-coasters pretty easily. When it happens tho, its not all 'funny, with people bouncing around'. Its just a large explosion, music cuts out, and you get a depressing message saying that 27 people died on the coaster.

I also remember in the original that you could pick people up and drown them in the water. It was actually a trick to get your park rating up: find people who are unhappy, and DROWN THEM! XD

Yeah I use to have an older version until a fire came by back in 2003 and took my house along with the game...

About a month ago, I finally decided to get this newer version. I like it in 3d but I do remember having fun with the older version (can't remember if it was 1 or 2) but I wouldn't of thought to make a death coaster lol.

The annoying part is that I have a small laptop and the large game heats it up after some time then everything slows down and gets really laggy.

RCT2 was my favorite, I never really liked 3.

Yeah, the only thing I didn't like about the older version was that if you built a roller coaster too big, no one would go on it... but I guess it makes sense, I mean if there was a coaster as tall as the Empire State, I don't think I'd ride it either lol.

I like these types of roller coaster games. I've played Thrillville and Theme Park Tycoon, but you don't really get the freedom to build what ever you want. The world is basically yours in Roller Coaster. I mean if you really want, you can let Giraffes run wild through your park... or Leopards for that matter.

Why do the people not die here.

Killing them was the point of RC2.

Or sealing them in and running your own prison complex.
