Thread: Minor Dream Characters

I don't really know exactly what I hope to gain from starting this thread. I thought about talking about this in my Dream Journal, but decided to make a thread instead. All I'm really going to do is talk about some dream characters that have picked up on as being persistent DCs, but they don't appear as much as all the dream characters that I regularly talk about. They're more just characters that I feel like I notice in the background a lot, sometimes in nonlucid dreams, and oftentimes in dreams or other bits that don't get recorded in my dream journal.

Jonathan-Former Dream nemesis, MY favorite, Evil dickweed who I thought was really cool and eventually turned good and left my dreams.

Jack-Dream Guide's former boyfriend. Don't really know what happened after I made friends with him, but I think he got eaten by a tiger. (It sounds like I'm joking, but I'm really not. I remember this dream fragment that I never wrote down where he got eaten by a tiger and that was the last I ever saw of him. Maybe that was just what I wanted to remember...)

So usually this is as far as I go when describing my persistent dream characters... but there are others... Most of them don't really have names that I know of, I usually just call them 'Kung Fu Girl' or 'King Boy'. Though I guess now is as good of a time as any to give them some names.

Kima- "Kung Fu Girl" This character has been around roughly since the time I started lucid dreaming. I always thought that she looked a little bit like the girl I crushed on in high school, only younger and with a lot of oriental blood. (It just so happens that the time I began lucid dreaming is within about a month of me starting my Taekwondo Lessons, and I started both these hobbies just a few months after getting into high school...). So it's pretty easy to figure that this character is a product of the time. She has shoulder length hair and is considerably younger than most other DCs that are in their mid-late teens. She is only about ten years old. Her personality is that of a martial arts master though, very level headed, respectable and adult-like.

In the beginning I didn't like this character very much because she sort of looked down on me. She just thought that I was disrespectful and undisciplined, I sort of feel like I have formed a friendship with her. In some of my recent dreams we practiced martial arts together.

David- "Hero Boy" I think David it the only obscure character who's name has ever been explicitly given. I saw him on a TV episode of a lucid dreaming centric show titled 'David the Nightmare Hunter'. David was the main character of the show in that one particular dream, but he is also the main character of my dreams as a whole.

This whole thing is going to sound really weird and stupid, but my dreams actually had an overarching storyline to them for awhile. I never really talk about this fact much, since I didn't like the story. It was by no means an original or well-written story, nor did I like it very much. But there was a plot. It was supposed to be followed a certain way.

The story basically went like this. I was the 'Chosen One' who had this prophecy to stop Jonathan from taking over the world or whatever. I had to join up with Manei, Jack and these other characters who were part of this resistance group trying to stop him. I tried to get out of the role for a long time, to no avail. However, I when Manei found out I was Nonbinary (that of all things) that got was what got me out of the role. (So I guess their prophecy was anti-LGBT...)

But about a week after this happened, I remember this character started to crop up. I remember Manei calling him the chosen one and saying that he was the hero destined to save us.

David was shorter, about my age and about my height. He had short blonde hair. He seemed to have some level of dream control though it was very limited. David is sort of clumsy and apologetic, and made a of mistakes, and he was sort of a wimp. He was also head-over-heels in love with Manei. (That makes three dream characters who wanted to date her... dang... Manei is like the hottest item on the menu...) Though in the limited time we spent together, he was fun to be friends with.

I have not seen as much of him lately since Jonathan is gone now. He still appears from time to time though.

Kristie- "Witch Girl" Now of all of the more obscure DCs that I have encountered, this one is by far my favorite. I was once told that this character was actually a Nega-Manei and that I should avoid her. However, she does not seem very evil. She was a user of dark magic and necromancy and also said she posses the ability to turn into a werewolf.

I remember her having short black hair, very pale skin and being rather short and chubby. I remember her having really bright blue/green reflective eyes. She wore mostly black/goth kind of clothing. There was also some aspect of her that was really into trading Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Don't know what that was about...

She sounds like a hostile and unlikeable character, and she was disliked by many of my other DCs. Around them she was known to be rather rude and to shut people out. But she seemed to be attached to me, perhaps even romantically. I grew to like her back. Not romantically, but as a friend.

I also recall her having these blue hieroglyphs tattooed all over her body.

Brad-"King Boy" I have noticed that my subconscious is portrayed as a young, bratty, annoying kid seated on a large throne. I recorded this in one dream that I know of, but he showed up at a couple other points as well.

Laura-"Marcus' Wife" I've seen Marcus has a wife more times than I have cared to mention. I call her Laura since she reminds me of Laura Croft from the Tomb Raider games, both in appearance and occupation. She has a lot of Marcus' high tech gadgets in her utility belt and she explores ancient tombs and ruins.

So far as I know, that is all of the more obscure DCs that I know of. If I forgot any, I will come back and update this.

I wonder if more of these minor DCs will step into the spotlight and become more major characters in my dreams in the future...
