I find that smoking helps me to relax. If I were you I wouldn't give it up because you can increase your imagination and creativity while high. Especially while dreaming. You might have to change your strains maybe try some sativas and no indica. I find that when I get that mental soaring high I can let my body go and keep my mind in the dream state. Try to smoke not to the point that your baked but that you feel a good hit. Then lie down in bed and breathe really slowly. Think of letting your body go and keeping your mind active. Think of things like space or a stair way through nothing, count your breaths or just relax and focus on letting your body sleep but moving your mind from reality to your unconscious dream state. It's best to try this method when your really tired. This helps me to see things and imagine stuff that I never could with out cannabis and it helps me keep my mind active. Practice enough and it might help you out.

Thank you for this, I needed to hear it. I've been without cannabis for 3 years which is sad. I live with my mom so I cant smoke. But I'm a psychonaut, and cannabis has given me vivid, beautiful thoughts. Cannabis is truly a gift from God. When I go to heaven in four years the first thing I'm going to do is ask God if I can smoke weed. It gave me good dreams, and made my mind a better place to be, and without it I feel empty and purposeless. I pray that God puts cannabis in my brain so I can feel that way again, like a hippie, like an angel. I would also love to try DMT someday. The brain produces DMT at night thats why we dream. I forget where I heard that. But I echo this poster, don't give up weed, unless you're truly addicted to it and then avoid it until you can use it without addiction, without needing it. I love and appreciate and respect cannabis, but i don't need it, and can wait to use it again.
