I used to be on this forum several years ago and I was able to train myself to successfully attain lucidity. This was a method taught to me by a member here.

One technique is throughout the day before you start your day.
You pick three key events, and you tell yourself, when they happen,
you will do a reality check. For example

1) when you drink water

2) when you see your friend

3) when you are crossing the street

Also, whenever something unusual happens, always do a reality check.

In your dream, when an unusual setting or event happens, you will automatically
do a reality check, and you will realize you're dreaming, and you will suddenly gain
lucidity.

It's pretty amazing when it actually happens.

I failed to gain lucidity today because two weird events happened in my dream

(a hotel cast over an ocean, with stilts, and a drone that flew near a junk yard, and
was sucking in all the scrap metals and turning it into dust)

I didn't question any of those events.

I was lucid in 3 separate incidents 2 nights ago. And even in my dream I woke up and was in my bedroom (in my dream), I knew to do a reality check right away to test whether I was actually awake or not.

And I've been trained, 3 years ago, when I woke up from a "dream". I was actually still dreaming. And when I went to go "outside", it wasn't "outside", and I knew I was dreaming instantly. Then when I woke up again, I did a reality check and realized I was still dreaming. I was in 2 layers of dreams at that time.

Please comment! I'm trying to get back into practicing reality checks and lucid dreaming.
