Reoccuring dream of an unknown man?

My friend has been having these dreams about a guy for several months now. Every second night she seems to recall dreaming of this man. She seems to know him in the dream, but not in real life. She describes him as being very attractive, and she thinks he may be her boyfriend in her dream.
Is there a reason she is having so many of these dreams about this man? Is it a dream sign or something more? Some of our friends think she will end up meeting him in real life.

I use to have recurring dreams of telephone wires blocking my way. I would spend a great amount of effort trying to climb over them to no avail. One day, I realized what they were, lines of communication. I decided to then "follow the lines of communication".

One can communicate in dreams. Once, I asked about my writing, this was when I was much younger. The resultant reply was, saw myself on a soap box in a pile of rubbish. I burnt the work, years later, I can wholly agree with the assessment.

In order to learn the art of communication in the lucid dream, one must focus on a very specific question and do their best to say what they see.

I have actually been trying to get her into Lucid Dreaming, but she thinks it's creepy.. But still, everyday she tells me how freaked out about her dreams she is. xD

The thing about dreams is that the cause can be very obvious, so I'm going for the obvious explanation: if she doesn't have a boyfriend in waking life, then maybe she's just stressed about it.
If she does, maybe she doesn't quite like him, or wishes he would be more like the man in her dreams.
Not intentionally, of course. But subconsciously.

That actually makes a lot of sense. She hasn't ever had a boyfriend and she tells me that it gets her down... There's a lot of peer pressure at our age. :\
      Thanks for the reply.

I know what you mean, I'm actually at that age too.
Although I'm very resistant to peer pressure, so I'm not rushing it like most people do.
Not sure why you pointed to your avatar, though.

Haha, my avatar originally said: "People say you can't live without love; I think oxygen is more important."
Haha, I change my avatar a lot.
