Red face Held captive in a house; Medical procedures?

      Hi,
I don't remember my dreams much so this dream was quite vivid and felt real that I am quite curious of it's meaning. Thank you for reading and for your help, I appreciate places like this with people so willing to offer their services. I have read the info about posting and will do my best to follow. Here goes:

I remember being trapped in a room. My husband was in another room, I didn't see him but I knew of this. I don't know how I got there. I knew I was there against my will. My husband came to my room to tell me that I was going to get a shot in my arm, some sort of booster but I also needed a shot in my finger that would be painful. He said he had it done and that he was going home and I needed to take my turn. It felt strange and he was acting odd. I felt uncomfortable and it didn't seem to make sense. I had many questions and knew I had to find a way out. The man who was holding me captive came to calmly tell me it was going to be ok and that I could go home afterwards. He said I would be sleeping the whole time. I didn't see his face or remember anything about him. He seemed irrelivant. He left and put his "helper" in charge. I wanted to know what was going to be injected into my arm and asked if I could write it down on my arm (thought I was being clever). The person kept giving me different spellings and answers to the drug so I said I didn't want to have it done.
This is where the dream doesn't make sense. I was told I didn't have to have it done but I felt like that was a lie. I asked if I could leave and was told that I could.

I went to my room to change clothes. I had a closet with many of my clothes in it. I couldn't find my keys to my car though. I left my room and the "basement" where I was being held (I felt the presence of other captives were there too but never saw or heard any). I proceded upstairs and started looking for my car. The man's young children were home with a babysitter and they saw me and wanted to help me find my car. We had no other communication. They went outside to hold back the dogs that were guarding the vehicles and I ran past but didnt' see my car. I looked in the giant garage for keys to any of the odd vehicles kept in there. One vehicle was unusual and had no dashboard. Another had keys but they were odd shaped and didn't fit the ignition. I figured I was going to have to make a run for it on foot when I heard the man come home. This is where my child woke me up by breathing on my face.

I had no strong visuals (my dreams are often foggy to my memory, visually). My feelings were confident, I didn't feel scared but actually felt excited, like this was an adventure or a challenge. I wasn't confused or frustrated even though things didn't make sense.

I am in my 30's a stay at home mom to 2 young children. I have an annoying, overbearing, controlling mother who has been taking the front seat in my life and every aspect of it. I can only think this has to do with her. School has recently ended for my 6 year old so that was a big even recently. I'm also on a diet and didn't eat anything unusual before bed (my last meal was at 8 and I was in bed by 9:30).

I hope that helps. Thank you again for reading.

To be honest this sounds like an average doctors appointment or hospital visit with terrible bed side manner. All kidding aside, here are some ideas to chew on; A traumatic childhood memory resurfacing, (doctors visit)? Doctors represent the highest levels of training and expertise (over nine years in med school). Is someone of high expertise and or authority callous, scaring, belittling, or ignoring you? Did the injection into your finger actually happen? - Syringes are extremely phallic, as Freud would argue, it could represent intercourse. Dogs are often representative of friends and the dog's demeanor your relationship (angry dog = hostile relationship).

Good luck, this is an interesting dream.

Yes, I get the feeling it is about someone having control or trying to have control of my life. I assume it's my mother. The way I felt in the dream was not fear. In my life I do not fear my mother. I have no problem telling her to mind her business or stop being so aggressive. That is why the feelings I had in the dream of excitement and control reminded me of the feelings I have with my mom when she becomes overbearing. Thank you. After rereading my original post it made more sense.
