Regarding taste control, a good rinse with listerine right before bed ought to make those kisses a skosh more tasty. If you do WBTB, then rinse right after the first "B." For what it's worth, strange tasting kisses are an excellent dreamsign -- though that doesn't make them any more fun.
Beyond that, things like feeling the inside of your mouth, finding the food you're eating has the texture of tongue and tastes like mouth, or (my personal favorite) endlessly looking for a functioning bathroom because you have to pee, you're kind of screwed. This stuff happens when your dreams occur close to waking times (also when most LD's happen), so many of the sensory devices that are happily turned off in earlier stages of sleep are beginning to function. The best you can do is try to imagine better tasting kisses, or hold the makeout sessions in earlier REM stages.
I have had many dreams where I have to pee, I find a place, I pee, then I become lucid, because I still feel like I have to pee. I freak out and wake up, to find out I did not wet the bed. I just have to go really bad. This has happened to me hundreds of times. I never wet the bed even though I always have dreams about peeing! I usually don't post those.
