      Ideas on Dream Characters

      DC's always deny it's a dream.

So what if they think it's there reality or they think that we are also DC's and so deny it because it's out of character or something?

Whenever I ask them, they smirk, they say "yes" and "no" repeatedly.

      Or they say maybe.

Once i'll ask a DC why a lot of people can't distinguish "there" and "their"

But anyway, my DCs sometimes tell me that it's a dream, they don't always deny.

My DCs can be a bit complex. Most will tell me that they know its a dream, while others seem to throw a fit or just flat out say that i am not real. Poor DCs...
Dreams are meant to be used to create ideas. And hopefully, plant the seed of this idea, to another. Which will help build, a very powerful nation.

I have had some DC's recognize that they are in a dream and others who deny it. Funny though, most DC's that do admit it is a dream will say it is my dream, but I did have one DC who said I visited her in a dream, implying we were sharing a dream.

I think of most DC's as movie or book characters. Some DC's are well developed - they seem to act independently, can hold intelligent conversations with you, and may even have thoughts, emotions, and memories of their own. These kind of DC's may be so well developed and self-consistent that they actually believe they exist independently and theirs is a consistent true reality. On the other end of the scale are the DC's I call "extras". These are the ones that give you nonsense answers and don't really to seem to have personalities or volition - they are just extras in your dream plot.

I think this is what you were getting at, Superchaz. And, yeah, it's pretty mind blowing to think about a DC having its own thoughts and believing in its own reality.

Most of the time my DCs deny that I am dreaming, but one time my DC was my brother so I said do a reality check and you'll realize it really is a dream. So he did one and was amazed and finally I had a DC agree that it was a dream.

In my experience as a long time LD'er, once I'm about to break the barrier in a dream between unawareness and lucidity, my DC's will try to prevent me from becoming lucid. However, generally once I am lucid my DC's will fully acknowledge my lucidity and just go on about their business unless I ask them to do something.

DC's don't always deny it's a dream. I've had Lucid DC companions along for the ride on many occasions. Sometimes I don't even need to tell them it's a dream first.

Zeracook. Yes, I've had stuff like that happen before too.

The most bizarre occurrence was once quite a few years ago when I was on a camping trip. I was having a restless night. I was being chased by the same DC throughout the entire night, in every dream. I thought he was some kind of serial killer that was after me. Each time he would get closer to catching me before I would wake up. Finally, in the final dream of the night. The DC catches up to me. He grabs me and calls me by name. He tells me that he had been trying to catch up to me all this time to tell me that this is a dream. I become Lucid "Wow, you're right!" I tell him. "This is a dream" I take off flying high into the sky. I wake up stunned by what had just happened.

I don't think I've ever asked my dream characters about anything related to this. They usually act or talk as if they know it isn't reality. I know my dream guides always talk as if they know it's a dream. I haven't met someone who has denied it in a dream. Most dream characters actually encourage me to become lucid.

      persistence

I had an interesting experience with dream people the other night.
As often happens they wouldnt acknowledge my questions, and rocked their heads like puppets in some kind of trance.
However, in this dream i was particularly frustrated and stubborn. I rubbed my hands and solidified my dream and decided to interogate one of these "puppets"

I just stood their and repeated my question over and over again with a firmness and and a strong intent.

The dream person eventually seemed to "wake up" and began to converse with me.
Usually i just run off and do something else. This was a very rewarding expereince because now i know that the intial impression of a dream person is not always who they fully are, at least based on this singular experiment, persistent can bring fruits.
Granted, he didnt turn out to be so interesting, but still it was a fun discovery.

Back before I knew much about Lucid Dreaming, whenever I realized I was in a dream I'd sometimes tell a DC that it's a dream. They used to just nod in agreement.

In my best Lucid Dream so far, I walked into an Inn I apparently owned with my dream wife. She was talking my ear off but I wasn't really paying attention to her. Then she asked me if I was listening then asked a question to see if I really was. I forget exactly what it was, but the answer had something to do with how weird it was that the rooms in the Inn were so clean and the main Lobby was so dirty or something. She was fairly intelligent.

Haha Last Night one of my DC's told me that I was doing a good job this past year and that I needed to continue my job and that it would be very rewarding in the end. It helped that the DC was my old crush.
