Ok, this makes sense.

How much information do you need about the person you're sharing the dream
with? And I have read here that it's not neccessary to be dreaming simultaniously?

If you know the person well or have some kind of link with them it is easiest. I have managed to share dreams with people I have only met on the forum, however. What you really need is something to focus on or a common location to focus on so you can find each other in the vast dream world. You're welcome to use the biodome and tower on the moon as they seem to be serving as a beacon to quite a few dreamers. For something to focus on, the tower is a tall black tower inspired by Stephen King's Dark Tower series. There is a biodome at the base of the tower filled with beautiful plants, animals, and insects. It contains a stream and a small lake. There is graffiti on the side of the tower that reads, "Welcome to the Moon Tower" in bright yellow paint.

The time thing can be a bit confusing, or at least it is for me. It seems both people don't have to be dreaming at the exact same time, but it is best if the times of the REM sleep are close at least as in during the same night. A few hours difference. One person I talked to brought up the point that if, for example, I saw you in a shared dream tonight, told you about it, but then you decided not to share a dream with me. That would be a paradox of sorts... If you don't believe time travel is possible, you would have to be dreaming at the same time as your dream partner since the time travel part could be blocked by disbelief. My spirit guide, Q, has tried to explain this time travel stuff to me repeatedly but I just keep getting a headache...

Is it possible for me to do something in order for others to see?
One of the users wanted to write something in graffity on the wall,
if I remember correctly - is that why it is there now?

I couldn't really wrap myself around 'time' either yet, but it is sure
as hell not ticking away linearly as a clock does. And if it works in
a way that we exist in different times simultaniously also,.. that
would not really be much of a paradox anymore. But I don't think
that's really 'comprehensible' for us anyway, since the concept of
time does have some importance for our survival here
But I don't really know what I believe here. So mind is open.

Sorry for all the questions. I'm sure you guys have answered them
plenty of times here already. I'll do more DV-Research

Asking questions is the only way to get information! And yes, one of the visitors left that graffiti on the moon tower. Another visitor, Walms I believe, planted a flower in the biodome with his name on the petals. You can add something if you want. Paint graffiti, plant a distinctive plant or tree, create a building. If you can imagine it, you can do it. And if it becomes a permanant addition then other dream visitors will see what you made! Or you can go to the city of Nowhere (also on the moon) which Nomad created and add your own personal touch there. The possibilities are endless.

Well if you ever find loafs of bread scattered around the area you know I've been there.

Our conception of time is very wrong. For instance things that are simultaneous from the viewpoint of some observers will not be simultaneous, if the two groups are in relative motion. And time will progress more slowly for observers in motion than for stationary observers, making traveling to the future possible. The effects of these laws are very tiny in everyday life though.
I'm not saying these laws account for the weirdness that supposedly happens in dreams, I'm just saying that you shouldn't trust your intuition when it comes to time.

Anyway I'm very enthusiastic about shared dreaming albeit skeptical. I feel like I need to increase my LD skills first though. I might go to the moon in my next LD, see what I can find. I'll leave something there for you all.

Interesting post. Perhaps I'll try to visit the moon with you guys. I will say, though, you've got guts for putting yourself out there like that. Also, I figure I should add when you say you have a possible SD with someone but they don't remember it, it is possible that they haven't dreamed it yet. I'm sure that The Cusp has heard this from me before, but I've had deferred SD with almost a decade between my dream and that of the other participant. I would explore more, but my lucidity and recall at the moment is wretched.

I am starting to lose hope that this is possible.
WakingNomad, you have said you have seen someone that you believe is me at least twice now but I have no recollection at all, even during the nights were I remember things about my dream. What is going on here?

I'm kinda interested in what the answer Nomad has to this is as well, but I guess I'll repeat myself here. It might be years before you have those dreams if what I've experienced holds true. Shared dreams don't necessarily take place during the same night. I've had one that took place years apart, almost a decade.
