Lucid dreaming as soon as you go to bed?

Is it possible to have a luvid dream immediately after going to bed? Also what would be the best technique to use to do it? Thanks for any replies

To be honust I don't really know.

But I believe dreams happen in REM sleep rather than NREM sleep. I may be wrong.

I would assum that WILD would be the best technique to use for it.

It works if you are really tired. Just try to WILD. People sleep deprive themself for a day or 2 and then WILD and it works, i have heard.

You won't get a proper lucid under normal circumstances. Yeah you may if you're sleep-deprived, but what's the point??

I once managed to WILD straight after going to bed. It was my first LD ever after I learned what lucid dreaming is. And no, I don't remember depraving my sleep before. I was lying still counting my breaths but my mind was wandering a bit because of HI and when I realized that I'm drifting off, there was some really strong HI which got me into a dream. That felt awesome, really. This happened like ummmm half a year ago (?), since then I haven't succeeded with WILDing again but I keep on trying it every night, it doesn't require putting a lot of effort in it. If it'll work, I'll be happy, if it won't, whatever

Edit: this LD lasted like 10 mins from what I remember

I recommend going to bed when your mind tells you to. It does wonders.
I often feel very tired but I stay awake instead of going to bed and I regret it because 1-2h later when it's my usual bed time, I don't feel so tired any more.

So sure, if you feel tired, you should go to bed earlier.

Yes, it is possible, if you have REM-onset sleep.

If you're on a normal sleep-schedule, REM sleep (where you have dreams) comes at about 4.5 hours after you fall asleep, and then every 1.5 hours after the first one.
      10 LDs and counting

its possible if you're sleep deprived. that's what happened to me when I was an insomniac. I'd lucid dream as soon as I fell asleep, not that I was happy with that because I was only sleeping two hours a night =b

otherwise if you can have a WILD as soon as you go to bed, what happens is the dream will just be really unstable and fall apart

I sleep 8 hours a night and often find i have vivid dreams (sometimes lucid) during afternoon naps that may only last 30 minutes. could this be somekind of involuntary WILD technique?

we dream in both REM and non REM. but these are different sorts of dreams, the dreams in REM are a lot more negative.

i tried my first WILD, at 11pm, it was really really hard, and i failed and got frustrated.

what really helps with the WBTB, is because you were just asleep, going back to sleep is really easy and fast.
kinda like if you play a sport, stop for 10 mins, and when you start playing again, you find it much easier (kinda.....).

is especialy helps if when you get back into bed you go back to sleep in the position you woke up in, kind of like an anchor.

      I agree.

I was going to say that it is possible by maybe going to bed extremely tired and attempting the WILD.

Only once (that I can recall) have I ever had an LD in my first two or three sleep cycles. It was a DILD and it wasn't due to sleep deprivation. It was a fairly low level LD.

Good question. And, if you had one lucid dream right after going to bed and slept until sunrise, would it be possible for you to know WHEN that dream occurred during the sleep cycle? That's another good question.

I'll simply say no because with a normal sleep cycle you should not be dreaming in the first few hours. I don't even have vivid dreams during afternoon naps unless I've had less than 4-5 hours of sleep the night before.

I also remember reading that maintaining consciousness during deep sleep in some kind of extremely deep and difficult form of meditation.
