Daytime awareness helps with quality of all dreams, regular and lucid alike. For this, I would recommend to read WILD (sageous) tutorial, especially LINK.

It is true, that having good dream recall is important. You can work on that by writing down your dreams. But the thing with LDs is, that you will most likely remember it, because it will be so different and exciting.

You will not be disappointed. Huge amount of people's first instinct is to fly. And flying is just unbelievable awesome. Just like the real thing. 0 gravity. Only astronauts, birds and LDers know the feeling. But only LDers can fly without any apparatus. Mindblowing. Get ready.
