This is my short advice for the chance to become lucid plain and simple!
1. Go to bed maybe 2 hours earlier then you are used to (If your able to).
2. Say to your subconscious out loud or in your mind, something like this "Now when I dream, I will say to myself that this is a dream, and as soon as I say that this is a dream. I will know this is a dream and be counscious within my dream" tell yourself that as clearly as you can, so it cant be any misconceptions about what's going to happen when you dream right now. Try to say it like you know it, just in the same type of confidence you have if you would tell yourself your name. Then just go directly to sleep!
3. Clear your mind 10-15min before bed. Try to meditate or if you dont like or know how to meditate just sit there on your bed and pretend that you are a conscious without any assumptions or labeling about the stuff in your bedroom or anything. Like if you look at a your doorhandle at your door. Dont think about what you call it or what it's used for. Just focus on how it is, the reflection if there is some, the curves of it, different colors in it etc.
4. Try to se the colors inside of your eyelid when closed. If you recognize that you drifting away, dont blame yourself, just go back to observe the colors within the darkness inside your eyelids. And when you drift in to sleep that's all ok, it just becomes the end of pratice. (This is a technique to make you more observing later in you dreams.)
