      nearly lucid

Had a strange experience yesterday night,I realized in my dream I was dreaming, then got pretty convinced that I was dreaming. Then became conscious that I actually was sleeping and this is a dream and that if I open my eyes I will wake up,but then I felt maybe I am just visualizing/day dreaming and not actually dreaming, and that I am awake, not sleeping.Has anyone of you felt like this?
I am still not sure if I became lucid or was just day dreaming, why does my mind do it's best to confabulate in the dream?

If you realized you were dreaming, then you were lucid. Congrats! I know what you mean about being confused though. The intensity of just knowing you are dreaming and your body is asleep can override your logic and make you think of other reasons about what's happening. Practice doing reality checks so next time it happens, you can prove your suspicion and solidify that you are indeed dreaming.

      Cheers!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

I tried the exercise which La Berge says "Scheduling Time For Lucid Dreaming",that is I slept for about 5 and a half to 6 hours at night and then woke up for about 2-2.5 hours, and then slept. It was only about 15-20 mins after I slept, that I questioned in my dream "Am I dreaming",I looked at my hands and realized I was dreaming,I felt my body numb then, slow vibrations in my body.My Mom was calling me in the dream, but I could not respond, the voice wouldn't simply come out of my mouth.Everything was moving very slow,I tried to concentrate on my intention of manifesting a beautiful actress in my dream, but I woke up. For how many days will this happen?? When will I be able to go on in my lucid dream?

It just takes practice, and now that you had your first, it will get easier.

Just don't stop writing in your dream journal and keep doing your RCs and mantras. Not sure if you practice daytime awareness, but I would add that to my regimen.

Don't try to do too much in your first lucids. Keep your cool, so excitement doesn't wake you up. Happy dreams
