I would presume so, if you try to be as descriptive as possible in what you experienced, you're bound to have better recall and more rich vocabulary that will help you remember the experience if you decided to read that entry in your dream journal after months or even years from now.

The same goes for drawing out your visualizations, it seems pretty straightforward that each line you make, your brain is going to process it, and when you're done, even if it's just a general outline of what you experienced, the brain should be able to fill in the gaps, and with writing out your visualizations, that would make things easier when it's filling in those gaps if you go back to it weeks, months, years from now.

The same with feelings as well.
