      No color when falling asleep?

I never see any color when I fall asleep. Not even tiny flecks or anything. Why is that and will it make lucid dreaming harder for me? (haven't had one)

You are talking about hypnagogic imagery I am assuming... try deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation. If the blobs and shapes only come in black and white just go with it!

Yeah same question as Faceonmars. Is the b&w just during the HI, or are your regular dreams also devoid of color?

At any rate, the absence of color shouldn't have any effect on your ability, or on the ease of attaining lucidity.

I am talking about HH and I don't even see black and white blobs. I've tried meditation relaxing... Everything... And I don't know about my dreams because I have 0 dream recall (something that I really need to fix)

Oh that sucks. So you've never remembered a dream ever? I mean, outside the hypnagogia?

Non lucid I remember a single word "shoes" and I was half conscious like I was almost awake. I've had a few lucid dreams from a long time ago that I remember. Haha I bet my dreams are nice and perverted like yours .

And btw I'm not really a transexual but when I saw the choice for it I died of laughter so I just had to choose it!

Update* I remembered my first dreams! Well 2 actually! I tried using binaural beats just for dream recall and it worked!

How is your vision when awake?

Do you see colors when you close your eyes at all?

      And why is transsexual funny?

Sir, you need to learn to 'edit' your posts, there is a button bottom right after each post you do, use it please.

I see blue and other colours after awhile if laying still, just try to relax more, but that kind of HH doesnt help with progressing into a dream anyway.

First of all, you should just be focusing on recalling your dreams first. Don't jump into it and try to WILD and work on recall. Take your time, slow down. Also what time are you WILDing? From your post it seems like you are trying to WILD before bed and I do not recommend that. WILDing before bed is very difficult. In order to WILD you should be attempting it after 4-7 hours of sleep or during a nap. Also don't worry about not seeing HH too much. Not everyone gets much HH, you should be focusing more on just getting into the dream. HH is also just not color. It can be sounds, images, feelings, vibrations, etc.

Also we have a few transsexuals on here, and you really shouldn't be laughing and be immature about it.

heh, he probably thought the transsexual symbol was something the forum added as an option just to be cute

I thought the same thing at first when it was first added, mainly because at the time, members were selecting the opposite gender for the hell of it. I know it's not meant to be made fun of, I doubt Iwannafly meant it in a bad way. Just my perspective on it all.

Sorry for not editing I'm new to the forum and didnt know there was one. And sorry also about the transexual it surprised me because if your a transexual wouldn't you still be only one sex? I haven't tried WILDing. I've been in sleep parylisis. And everyone should have color on HI and I don't. And my vision is fine color wise. But I do wear contacts. Lastly I have been working really hard on dream recall but you can't help your dream recall if you can't remember any in the first place. That's where the binaural beats have been coming in. Thank you all for the help !

Ophelia your reply happened right before my eyes . Also my dreams are quite sexual. One thing we have in common.

Update again I changed to "male" because it was disrespectful.

Well I'd imagine when you get a strong hold on how to lucid dream, then you can "control" what "colour" you are willing to see.

It's not lucid dreaming... It's HI which you should see when you close your eyes in darkness. Thanks for the answer anyway!!

Haha well to add, I used to have a lot of HI when i was a lot smaller I know that for sure. And if i ever remembered a dream it was always in black and white as far as i would remember =/ so idk if that connects...

Oh wow, that's so weird. I never heard of people having predominantly black & white HI before. Until I heard about it here.

I wonder what causes this, or why that is.

Some people actually don't see anything behind their eyes when they close them and focus on the darkness - but you can train this!

Instead of sitting and waiting for HI, try and make your own! Start really simple, try and look into the darkness of your eyelids and make something, a red triangle, a green circle, etc. If you're looking for colours, blobs, etc, then trying to make your own will help a lot more In terms of using it to WILD, visualising full dream scenes will benefit you a lot more, and will still help exercise the dreaming part of your brain

I have only met one other person who made that claim. It was my girlfriend at the time and I was amazed. She could never get any visuals not even sparkels or dots. She also almost never remebered having dreams.
Will it affect your LD skills. I am afraid it may. Their is a portion of your brain that can be developed and trained, which is responsable for internal preception. It is of course also used in the formation of dreams. But do not give up! You are likely starting with a small issue that you will have to struggle with more than many members. What Dark Merlin says is good advice. You just need to deveolp that portion of your brain a bit. Neural remodeling takes about 2 weeks to start, so do not get discourged or expect much change until 3 weeks of working on this. If you attempt to visualize in the dark daily then at the 3 week point you should make a sudden break through. Also try to create HI type effeccts for practice that are not visual, like a sense of motion, gently spinning or a feeling of rotation is a common one you could try.
Do not worry, you just need to practice for a few weeks and all should be well.
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.

Hey, thanks for all the answers! I started doing a different kind of meditation that's suppose to help astral projection. I have started to have blobs but have been unable to control it.
