      Best WILD time

      Hey everyone,
I haven't been on here for like a year, that was when I had my first real lucid dream through WILD. I want to try this again because um it was pretty much awesome. But I was wondering what time is best to wake up for it, would you say? My first one I woke at 6am. But I keep reading everywhere that it's best to wake about 5 1/2 hours after falling asleep to try it. I generally go at like 11 or 11:30, and it takes me maybe a half hour to fall asleep. So should I set an alarm for 5am? Or just go with 6? Or does it not really matter? Lately I've been setting it for 3 which is shocking I can't remember any dreams and can never fall asleep again.
      Thanks heeaps for your help

PS another thing I was wondering, would it help to have music on quietly while I WILD? As something to keep my attention?

Hi there my friend, glad your back and congrats on your WILD . I'd be more than happy to answer your questions.

But I was wondering what time is best to wake up for it, would you say?
The usual time for a person to wake up after going to bed is around 5-7 hours. But take note that it isn't the same for every person. So try to experiment with your waking time.

PS another thing I was wondering, would it help to have music on quietly while I WILD? As something to keep my attention?
Yes, it's quite fine to have a soothing music while WILDing. But please choose the appropriate song for you. Don't choose a song that will make you fall asleep in a second or a song that's too loud you won't be able to sleep. Also, keep the volume as low as possible yet still hearable.

Feel free to reply back if you've still got questions. Hope this helps and good luck

Thanks for your help! I woke naturally at about 4am and tried to WILD but it didn't work. I tried a few times but nothing. I might set an alarm for 5am next time. What time do you guys find works best for you?

I usually go to bed at 9pm and wake up around 3:00am. So there's a 6 hour difference between them. But of course, I adjust the waking time if necessary. Hope this gives more info

I had success using the WILD-Method, when I went to sleep late at night (on weekends) around 3.00 am, I woke up at 8 am, went outside for a few minutes and then I went back to bed.. that almost always works
But I also had great WILD-experiences during my "siesta".

I haven't had a WILD, but my almost-successful attempts are usually when I go to bed at about 9:30 and wake up at 5:30. So thats, what, 7 hours? It just depends on the person

Dreams become more intense as the night goes on. Ergo , waiting more hours is better. I would say either 5 or 6.5 hours. This depends on how many hours you normally sleep. Six and a half hours does not work for me as I normally only sleep seven. Whatever you decide ... do not get up a wander around for 10 to 30 minutes like I have seen stated on this forum from time to time. Stay in bed and visualize.... anything. Including, possibly, the last dream you can recall having.

As far as WILD goes, 5 or 6 doesn't matter. But for your health, make it as late as possible. WILDing will reduce the amount of normal deep sleep you get. And I would suggest always attempting WILD on a day when you can sleep in.
