      PILD- Pretend Induced Lucid Dream

Sorry if this has already been created.

      PILD- Pretend Induced Lucid Dream

This is an easy inducing technique to do almost like a WILD, but easier to control.

Get comfortable Start out the same as doing a WILD. You want to be comfortable, so you don't move around. Try not to move too much, unless you're uncomfortable. Try to keep your thoughts calm. You want to be pretty tired to start, but not so much that you can't concentrate or you fall asleep. This is very important.

Imagine a dream Picture the dream in your head with your eyes closed. Pretend you're dreaming. Just imagine yourself walking around in a dream scene, or driving around your neighborhood. Eventually, it will become more clear, but you still won't be dreaming. Everything will be completely controlled by your mind at this point, unlike a dream where some things happen randomly. Keep on imagining the dream and concentrate on it. If your physical body doesn't move, you will fall asleep in the same dream scene.

I've done this inducing technique before, and it works. But it's possible that I was dreaming when it happened. Please try this and post what happened. Did it have the same effects as a WILD? Was it easy or hard to fall asleep? Could you stay in the dream? Please help me test this technique.

I believe there is a similar technique called the VILD. (Visual Induced Lucid Dream) But either way, this sounds like a good method. I might have to try it.

I'm confused, what's the difference between this and a WILD via VILD?

Srry but this is a normal WILD. It's nice to have more people post techniques though than ask for some
      I stomp on your ideas.

I guess it is like a WILD. But when I did it, I didn't have any of the scary effects like light, noise, or vibrations. That's why I wanted more people to try it, to see if there was that difference.

There isn't. It's a WILD, by using a VILD method. No difference. I never experience SP. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't, some people do, some people don't. Renaming a technique isn't going to change what happens during it

i can attest that I have done this successfully a wee ago. I just imagined i was dreaming and I found that it was usually the easiest way I can go to sleep and I did it before I knew about lucid dreaming.

But I got interested in lucid dreaming so while I was trying to put myself to sleep i kept saying to myself "I am dream" "I want to be lucid" and I had a short but pretty hilarious dream. (its in my dream journal) http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...64&postcount=3

Well I guess this is useless then since it's just like WILD and VILD

No, no. I'm going to try this tonight. I think I may have done something like this before. Sounds very effective and interesting.

OK so I tried it before I went to bed and had some interesting results. It was kind of like a very realistic daydream but not quite a dream. I blame my failure on the fact that I did it right when I went to bed and not during a WBTB. Will try it tonight when I go to bed and when I wake up in a few hours.

I did it briefly during this morning's WBTB...although it was kinda where my wandering mind went. I was thinking of a Garfield comic and it kinda turned into some kind of short dream where somebody in the comic was moving. I can't remember if i was lucid or not.

Will try this again sometime soon.

Yay! It works, kinda. I would try to keep your mind in a familiar place, like your yard. It's kinda hard, but you'd have a better chance at a lucid.

And Rockinbed, the realistic daydream is what happened to me too. It's like a dream that you have complete controll of. But it's hard to keep the picture in your mind...
If you can for long enough, you should enter a lucid.

I'll try tonight. I completely forgot last night...

This actually "half-works" for me almost every single time I try it. It's like all of a sudden, all the things you're thinking of becomes real and around you. The only problem for me is that I guess I lose consciousness somewhere in the middle, because next thing I know I'm waking up in bed remembering a dream I just had. Any suggestions?

Try looking at someone in the eyes or reaching out and touching someone.

So no one's had any scary WILD effects?
