      Welcome, MagicHunter!

You can certainly post your WILD attempts here. Also, I recommend that you take the DVA WILD class to which this thread is attached; you might find it helpful.

      Good luck!

The next 2 attempts I've made finished with vibrations.
The first one was intense, combined with rapid pulse and breathing, so it was pretty scary.
Now (yes, only now ) I've read the whole course and know that the noise doesn't matter.
      So I'll keep trying.

      Quick question.

Not exactly a WILD, but I started out doing a WILD, fell asleep, came to with all the buzzing/electic sensations/other auditory hallucinations and feelings of something very strange happening to me and my leg being pulled upwards very hard. Then I felt very nauseous and had to wake myself.

I sort of know what was happening to me (although I have yet to manage to LD or OBE), what I was wondering was how common is nausea at this stage and what could it indicate? I was wondering if it was just that I was getting anxious about everything.

^^ I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you. Since nausea isn't a standard example of the noise experienced during WILD, it could just be that you were indeed just a bit nervous about those sensations.

If I were you I wouldn't give the feeling much thought, and then do your best to not care about all those strange things that are happening the next time they do. The noise is not important to your LD success at all, and it is quite harmless. If you can hold that assertion when it happens next, you might not get nauseous, and you might be able to move on to a dream.

Also, if you haven't already, I suggest that you take a look at the DVA WILD class to which this thread is attached. You might find it helpful, especially the session on the noise.

Thanks Sageous, being a real beginner at this I literally just wondered if anyone had experienced it before as it seemed a bit odd, and thought perhaps if I knew why it happened it would help me avoid it next time.

Probably just 'nerves'. It was a bizarre experience, I didn't find it at all frightening, quite fascinating, just rather too intense, and I can't wait for it to happen again!

      And thanks for the links

Incredible DEILD (first one in months!)

This morning, i woke up at around 6:00. Feeling quite tired, i decided to try WILD. Simple visualization wasn't working, so I imagined a sudden flash of blue light with accompanying bang. WHOAAAAA... I very distinctly feel the transition as i enter a lucid dream: a battle on the beach. Everything is just so real, and i am continually amazed by the complexity of this world. What follows is the single longest ld i've ever had: 45 minutes. The whole thing was so incredibly stable and vivid. I flew over the himalayas, had sex without waking up(better than the real thing), found my dream guide, and had a blast. Will try again tomorrow.
How do you know that this world isn't as real, or as important, as the one you live in?

these days (I mean these nights) after WBTB I entered short WILDs by focusing on written stuffs during dreamlets at the REM beginning, or just before the REM onset.
During this short dreamlet phase, contrary to REM dreams, written stuffs seam very stable, and focusing on what was written (even if it didn't mean anything) leaded to WILD since it was just before REM sleep (I presume).
I did it rather in a "sageous style", more passively than I use to do, a little bit like if it was "by luck", so not too much focused on the purpose of LD, but rather focused on the dream itself and it worked well.

^^ Interesting idea, focusing on written stuff, Kaan. That seems a good choice, both because it summons your attention in a sort of abstract, "I must be aware to understand what this says," sort of way. and also because you are tapping memory in the process as you try to make sense of what the writing says (and yes, you will likely do this automatically, even if the writing is gibberish).

      Very cool; thanks for sharing!

So, I've been ill for a long time and now I'm back on my intention to enter WILD the first time.
Tried 3 times so far with no effect - either distracted by irrelevant thoughts, or by uncontrollable swallowing (maybe I'm relaxing my jaw the wrong way or just need get used to it). I also started meditation again for training purposes because otherwise it seems it wouldn't work..

Lately I've been getting back into WILD and FILD and getting a new sensation. I call it the warm tingles, and it's always accompanied by flashing/swirling colors, no breathing or fast, deep breaths, and increased heart rate. My breathing immediately makes me shift my focus to it, and the heartbeat is passively ignored easily.

Am I already dreaming at this point and can open my eyes?
What can I do when my breathing goes crazy to distract myself?

Other than the warm tingles, Ive been successful in the past few days. I randomly start falling, speeding, or rotating and when it stops, I open my eyes and do a RC to find out that I'm dreaming

^^ Okay, here's the thing: None of those things, be they tingles, flashes, perceived changes in breathing or heart rate, etc, have anything to do with WILD, or LD'ing at all. Seriously.

Sure, you can use them as roadmarks on your way to the dream, as you seem to be doing already ("I randomly start falling, speeding, or rotating," etc), but they really are just so much noise -- try not to make it all too important. WILDs will become much easier if you can manage to reduce the significance of the noise.

Here's a fun fact: you never have to open your eyes during a WILD dive. When your dream finally starts, you will have left your physical eyes behind, and your dream body eyes will very likely be open. Conversely if you still think you have eyes that are closed and need to be opened, then you are very likely not asleep yet. So keep them closed and continue with your dive, patiently; your dream body eyes will be open come dreamtime.

This might sound odd, but breathing generally does not go crazy on its own. Throughout a WILD, your body is falling asleep quite normally, and breathing (and heart rate) really does not change, aside from slowing down to a steady, restful rate. I believe that the only way your breathing would become erratic is if you make it so, either from excitement or expectation. It might not even be doing it at all, believe it or not, as those sensations could just be more HI. In other words, you may be inadvertently making the crazy breathing and heart rate happen on your own, and it is in your power to control it.

So if you feel your breathing or heart rate increasing or becoming erratic, you might take a moment to calm yourself, to remind yourself that your body is probably not doing this stuff on its own; it is in your hands to settle it by simply calming down and letting it pass -- or simply ignoring it as just more noise on the way to your dream.

I had a couple of DEILDs last night. Traditionally, I haven't been good at DEILDing.

I was thinking of dreams as like boomerangs which will go away and come back towards me if I stay still. This mindset helped me last night so hopefully it will help me in the future.

^^ That is an excellent mindset, Dolphin; dreams as boomerangs seems a good metaphor to use, because it is easy to remember upon waking.

I think that's a good analogy, too. I think I need to practice remembering that. I haven't been too good at DEILD myself so far, even though I frequently get burned by waking up, recording a dream, and then going right back into non-lucid REM within minutes because I wasn't expecting it. Even when I am, I still seem to be annoyingly good at losing both my lucidity and access to memory as soon as I hit sleep at present.

^^You might try not recording the dream during one wake-up per night, Travis, and just dive right back into it... just hold still and wait for it to "boomerang" back to you, and do your recording next time you wake up (maybe you'll have a LD to jot down).

I definitely think that's part of my problem. I often have a hard time being willing to potentially lose recalled dreams. Last month I woke from a LD, attempted DEILD without recording, but fell back into a NLD and almost forgot the LD entirely in the process (though it seemed to be a fairly low-level one, anyway). I think that if I can try it a few times (maybe after dreams I happen to not mind losing) and prove to myself that I won't forget the dreams as easily as I'm afraid I will it will become easier to let go, take the chance, and try it more often.

Not quite a DEILD, but I think I woke up from a NLD and then went back into a DILD. I practically don't remember the actual awakening at all now, but I feel like I remember waking up from the dream and deciding to hold off on taking notes for a bit (probably with the intention of attempting DEILD). Apparently I then fell back into a dream where I eventually saw someone whom I happened to remember isn't alive anymore and realized it was a dream.

But that still counts. Also, I managed to recall both dreams this time.

^^ Yes, if it was a LD, then it certainly counts; no matter how you got there!

I have a feeling that many, if not most, attempted WILD's (and DEILD's by extension) end up as DILD's, because consciousness is lost more often during the process than people might think. But who cares? If your effort to WILD or DEILD results in a LD, even if it was a DILD, you're still in a LD.

      Unhappy Failing at WILDing

Even though recalling for me has gotten better, I'm still having trouble entering lucidity while WILDing. There have been many times where I have encountered "dreamlets" (Hypnagogia) but I would always snap back out of them before they continued any further. Like, waking back up before going completely to sleep multiple times.

My body gets to the point of becoming stiff as my mind is already beginning to focus on one particular subject I want to enter into a dream about as the visuals becoming more and more vivid, but at the very last moment, I am taken out of it.

^^ Actually, it sounds to me like you are fairly close to a sucessful WILD, MobianAngel. From your brief report, it seems that your mind is generally in the right place, since you have the dream in mind, but you still might be paying too much attention to the noise that accompanies a WILD dive.

I suggest that you take the DVA WILD class to which this thread is attached; I think it might help nudge you over the threshold to the dream.

      Good luck!

My first Wild with clasical mile stones recognised as they are clearly manifesting

So here I am going back to sleep when i would usually be getting up✨After several short wbtb's and lots of dreams

I chant my mantra " Now I lucid dream" and imagine myself writing these words in the space of my mind

I slipped into a dream for a while set here in my home - then I wake up in my bed and can feel/observe myself rocking my body very evenly, with a gentle rhythmic energy of flow, from side to side, I feel exited about this as more and more I am realising it's not my physical body that's rocking ...around that time I start to hear the " noise" ( a loud high pitch sound mainly ) I am able to carry on focusing mainly on the rocking but then remember I need to put my mind into the dream world ... I need to imagine the scene ...NOW!... So I imagine my hand turning the cold handle of the large colourful door( I am very aware this is a switch in mind focus I have not done consciously before with such confidence). As I am turning the handle and feeling the presence of myself within this place/scene/dream I start also to become aware I am moving out of my physical body with ease✨

I carry on with this and move away from my body and down the hatch of the attic room. I jump down the hatch and it is so very realistic I almost don't believe it's a dream for a moment - but I know with full confidence it is because I had just Wilded in

After a year of doing wbtb's etc and knowing one day this day would come - thanks Sageouse!

WBTB went wrong last night, woke up more later than I should have, never mind that though I still attentped to WILD.

Couldn't stop moving at all, and swallowing was another issue setting me back. But I'm glad I got to experince atleast 2 things, short vibrations and what came to BE the sound of a high pitch/buzzing sound.

Even though I did not WILD I'm happy.
