I've done it once, I don't remember how though. It just happened.

It's not suggested, seeing it's very hard to pull off. I was lucky.

Like XeL I've done it once before, but it was totally unexpected and caught me off guard.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

It's possible, but I wouldn't recommend it. Even if you did manage one, the quality of the LD would probably be terrible, and I doubt it would last longer than 10 minutes. However, that's just speculation based on my knowledge of how sleep works. Puffin and Xel are more qualified to comment on that matter seeing as they've actually pulled it off, albeit without trying to.

Yeah, even if you were to pull one off at the beginning of the night, it would range from 5-15 minutes in length. Nowhere near being worth the time spent on achieving it.
