Is Sleep paraylsis all that scary?

So I'm Going to be attempting to WILD tonight. Thing is I'm kinda scared to because of SP; its the main reason I'm "afraid" of lucid dreaming.

But tell me dreamview is SP all that scary? The one time I did experience it all I felt was intense pressure and kind of a "stoned" feeling. But then I stopped cause I was thinking for sure I'd see scary shit.

Should I just grow a pair and just do it?

It freaks me out bad enough that I usually stick to DILDing. However, I've been getting used to the feeling through extended meditation. So really, it just takes getting used to. Some people have absolutely no problem with it, some get scared away from WILD by it.

Sleep paralysis is indeed very strange, but it doesn't have to be scary. You just have to remember that nothing can cause you any harm. When I go into sleep paralysis, I think this to myself, and once I know nothing can hurt me, I can watch and experience the hypnogogic hallucinations without fear. It can be exciting and fun, all you have to do is get in the positive mindset

It really depends on the person and each attempt. I don't find it scary I like it. I say give it a try.

The auditory hallucinations freaked me out on my last attempt, but it depends on the person. Even if you know it's not real, doesn't mean it's not scary, e.g. horror movies.

Legit SP (the kind some people experience late at night during "micro" awakenings) is scary as all hell.

The type sometimes experienced during WILDs isn't bad at all.

Waking sleep paralysis, and sleep paralysis are 2 different things entirely. Like Mzzkc said, when people wake up in SP its 100 times worse than waking SP. The normal SP will have been going on for a little while longer than just your WILD SP, which causes the intensity to elevate. I reccomend trying it out, because everyone experiences it differently. Most people say that they experience extremely loud and jerking vibrations, like driving on an unpaved road. Some people just imagine voices. (these can be scary, especially if you go into the attempt thinking that it will be.) I personally hear strange noises that normally relate to the visual hallucinations im experiencing at that point in time. And for some reason, the main thing that i hear during SP is someone washing dishes, Why? I have absolutely no idea. Just understand that nothing can hurt you and that your just hallucinating. Odds are though that on your first WILD attempt your heart beat will elevate and jerk you out of SP. For when things get to intense, just do the breathing technique. Change your breathing pattern to N-REM breathing. Try fast shallow breaths. In the end you have to experience it for yourself, like LSD.
