Exclamation Help on transition from SP to dream

I hit sleep paralysis, definitely since the sensation of heaviness/tingling was very strong, and when I gave up on the WILD, I had a hard time getting up. My problem is that I felt a rolling sensation and tried to roll into a dream but it didn't work. I wasn't experiencing HI, and the light patterns weren't very visible. I tried to envision a dream and myself within it, but it didn't work. What should I have done?
The burden of proof lies with the one making the claim

Sometimes I have trouble with this. To me, it seems like you're trying too hard. Once I've gotten to the point of intense hypnogogia and sensations, I just let myself drift off, and I'm still conscious enough once in the dream to be lucid. I think you need to relax more and just let it happen, and if that doesn't work, I'm not the one to ask.
