I have also tried using an alarm clock that shuts itself off, but I always wake up from it in such a way that I cant fall back to sleep no matter how hard I try. I guess it wakes me up too much or something. So anyone got any suggestions? Or tips that have helped you not to fall asleep before you remembered your last dream?
A DEILD is a specific type of WILD. Essentially, to DEILD, all you have to be able to do is become aware as you are waking from a dream. You don't have to think about/remember the dream you just had, all you have to do return to sleep while remaining conscious. DEILDs can be very easy when performed correctly. The next time you become aware as you are waking from the dream, just keep your eyes closed and try not to move. Just relax and allow the process to overtake you (it isn't a requirement to stay still, but results will be best if you limit your movements). You should be able to feel your body falling asleep and you will quickly return to a lucid dream state (usually with little, to no SP/HH).
You have hit the nail on the head. If you wake yourself up too much, DEILD success rates go way down. You can always attempt a WBTB WILD technique if you have woken yourself up too much to successfully DEILD. Stay awake for a few minutes (usually anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes) and then attempt a WILD technique.
Hope I helped a bit and good luck to you! If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.
