Had "Water Bed" and couldn't figure out why

Last night I think I was having hypnogogic hallucinations but I'm not quite sure. I woke up and felt like my bed was made of water, and I was moving around on it and it was all wavy and stuff. It felt a lot like I was drunk really. I was really sleepy and couldn't quite figure out what was happening. Was this the beginning of a WILD? I've never experienced anything like this before. Next thing I know it's the morning, so whatever it was it didn't get me into a lucid dream.

It sounds to me like you had a false awakening and didn't realize it. Alot of times I get that strange wavy, water bed feeling when I have a FA. Next time be sure to do a reality check to make sure you aren't dreaming.

Huh that's weird because I really thought I was awake and in the morning I remembered the experience very well... I don't usually remember night dreams well, only morning ones. Is it possible it could have been anything else. Damn if it really was a false awakening than I messed up shoot lol.

Those types of FA happen to me quite a lot, like I'm hella wasted and lying in sticky glue. Watch out for those ones!

But how often do you remember them well? Because I can almost never remember dreams that happened in the middle of the night (which is when this experience occurred). I can generally only remember morning dreams. When I woke up this popped into my head immediately, making me wonder if this really was a FA.

But it sure was fun lol. I felt so drunk.

FAs are generally easier to remember. Your body and mind thinks you are awake, and waking life events are much easier to remember than events during the dream state (most of the time). If you had actually woke up in the middle of the night and went back to sleep after several minutes you would remember that in the morning right? FAs tend to work like that as well. Sometimes, I won't even realize I had experienced a FA until I wake in the morning and recall it. There is another possibility. I could have been a hypnopompic hallucination, which are similar to hypnogogic hallucinations, but they occur as the dreamer wakes from sleep as opposed to when the dreamer enters sleep.

Huh well I'm kinda hoping it was along the lines of a hypnopompic hallucination because the more WILDish experiences that I encounter the better. I want to get used to them so whenever I attempt WILDs I won't get too excited (which generally happens). Thanks a bunch for the thoughts
