      SP failure

Hey. I've been trying to LD for at least a week now, I had been attempting now and then for the past 6 months (Like, once or twice a month). but I only ever managed SP once. So recently I got quite committed and have tried to WILD every night this week. But I keep hitting the same problem, I do everything normally as specified in the tutorial to WILDing. I do a mantra I get up briefly, but I can never get past the numbness. I lye there and after about 2-4 minutes my body feels numb and relaxed, after that. Nothing. I have laid like that for over 2 hours. Never managing SP. I just keep giving up after that. What am I doing wrong? 0_o

I assume that with the mantra, you are repeating it to yourself multiple times. Don't. Having an inner dialog with yourself is a barrier preventing yourself from having a WILD. Look at this page, and it will tell you things not to do during a WILD attempt.

      Best of luck.

are you trying this with a wake back to bed? IE 3.5-4 hours of sleep? or are you trying this during your first sleep? either way, you shouldn't worry about getting SP. A lot of people don't experience it at all during the transition. Just keep practicing your technique, and focus on getting lucid, not just getting to "sp".

If you aren't doing a WBTB before you try to WILD, I suggest that you do. There are very few people who can WILD without sleeping first, and I mean very few!

But I do encourage you to try and see if you are one of those few people.
