Smile Were these small effects of a WILD?

      Hey guys,

Last night, I very tired, so I went off to bed.
I was lying in my regular sleeping position, when I realized how still I'd been sleeping...'why don't I try to WILD?'
So I did. I stayed extremely still and told myself I WOULD become aware I was dreaming

After some time, I started to feel something I have always felt when trying to WILD. My chest felt like it was just to burst open. Suddenly, I didn't feel like I was controlling my body anymore - my legs were slowly moving around me, without me doing it on purpose...they might not have been moving at all. At this time I had a slight feeling that I was floating. Then I had what looked like a very rubbish version of those visual hallucinations. I could see dark blue colours slowly swimming around in my eyes.

I had this feeling about 4 times that night before I decided to just go to sleep normally. Were those occurances the beginning of a WILD? Was I close?

      Cheers,

      Calum

I've experienced that before, so yes.
I remember being very tired and lying in bed, only to go into SP a few minutes later. It seemed that my legs were floating away from me, like a person pulling you to a different position. I heard some Hypnagogic Hallucinations and the like, and decided to enter the dream. I just kept my eyes closed and passively watched the imagery morph into a dream.

So from my experience, that would be pretty close.

A WILD is when you're actually dreaming

What you described is HH/HI, which is what most people experiance before going into SP, so you hadn't even entered the dream state quite yet

I personally have found I get HH/HI, then SP and then I just fall asleep and then start dreaming after being asleep for a few hrs(in which I could DILD or MILD

WILD is when you go straight into the dream state and is usually done as a WBTB or during a nap

I have found there's no point in getting to SP as you're trying to go to sleep for the first time as the REM cycle won't start for a few hrs, so you'd enter SP, but will just end up falling asleep. However, it's prob ok to practice SP and saying mantras for when you do a WBTB or WILD
