      Lost it

So in my probably 3rd attempt to WILD, i probably got the closest. I laid down, relaxed, and kept envisioning a certain action (in this case a hand moving a plate in a circle, yeah odd i know but it kept my mind focused off my body). I soon felt my body get really heavy and tingly, felt my muscle twitch in certain places. I kept completely still and ignoring all bodily sensations. I soon felt the image of the plate start to fade and i was engulfed in a show of bright streamers and geometric shapes. I figured this was the hypnagogic state, i felt my eyes vibrate very intensely, and soon my entire body felt like it was shaking. i kept very focused on the patterns, my body felt very very heavy, felt like i couldnt move it. well i didnt want to try even if i was in SP, i didnt wanna break my concentration. Soon enough i felt myself going through a tunnel. a looong tunnel. at this point I would tell myself that I am entering my dream. I would repeat. but in a few minutes, the tunnel and imagery started to fade and everything went to blackness. i opened my eyes to just discover im in my bed, in reality. Any suggestions on what i can do from here, was i on my way to the dream, and just broke my focus somehow?

Whenever you "wake up" in bed, RC!!!!! Its important that you ALWAYS do that. regardless of if you are trying to WILD, WBTB, DILD, or anything else. ALWAYS RC when you wake up, whether it be in the early morning, at night, or when you normally wake up.

      It helps.

Also, Keep trying, and don't be discouraged. It sounds like you are really close. Think positive. It helps wonders.

maybe you just need to ride it out, and don't open your eyes? maybe it's just the hypnagogic images are fading to make way for your dream landscape?
