You're thinking of interrupting a REM cycle part way through, which is something else entirely.
Well, REM Rebound, in the context I've always read it as, is when your body is apt to jump back into REM sleep, skipping all the other stages, which occurs more frequently at night.
REM Rebound may not have been the correct term then, but there is something similar to that word that I've read and looked up before that deals with quickly "rebounding" back into REM sleep.
