Ok, so I've been trying to LD on and off for the last few years. I've tried a lot of different techniques, including WILDing, but none of them had any success. WILDing just kept me awake for about 10 minutes until I got distracted and fell asleep normally.

However, after reading some of the posts around here, I decided to try the same thing but with music in the background to help keep me awake. This worked incredibly well. After a fairly short time, my arms and legs started feeling very heavy, before suddenly going completely numb. Some time after that, I must have got very very close to falling asleep, because time became very blurred, and before I knew it, the 1 hour timer on the PC ended and it shut down.

Thing is, although it felt very similar/the same as descriptions of Sleep Paralysis, I thought the whole point of it was that you COULDN'T move. But when I actually put a little though into it, the numbness left the limb I wanted to move, and I could move it just fine.

So my question is - Was this really SP? It happened two nights in a row, both times ending in me being almost alseep, but still awake enough to pull my headphones off and give up on LDing for the night.
