WILD: When Do I Open My Eyes?

So last night i laid down after a hard nights work, and just relaxed. i was focused on achieving a WILD.

I got to the point where my body and mind were relaxed and calm. I started to see colors/shows almost like cartoons inside my closed eye lids, and at some points it almost felt like hands were touching me. None of this scared me, but it got to the point where I "FELT" like I should open my eyes.. So I did.. only to realize I was still laying in my bed...

I am just wondering, at what point do you open you eyes in WILD to actually be inside a dream, and not still laying in bed?

      thank you

Actually I wouldn't pay so much attention on when to open your eyes.

Alot of the time when WILDing at some point a scenery will form around you and you will be able to just step into the scene without deliberately opening your eyes. Or you will have that moment where you just pass out for a second or so and the next thing you know is you are in a dream fully lucid.

But if you want to do a more OBE-style exit directly from your bedroom(or a dream version of it), I would not try to exit before you either had vibrations or at least lost the physical feeling of your body laying in bed. Otherwise it will be very hard to tell if you are ready yet (which you experienced yourself already )

Instead of waiting for the right time to open your eyes, you could also try something like the safety-cap exit or similar methods that focus on the tactile sensations of your projected/dream body. That way you won't ruin your state if you are not ready yet, but if you are, then you can be pretty sure that you are now using your non-physical body and can open your eyes.

      Hope that helps a bit.

last time i tried to open my eyes, i woke up and almost did another time.

let the dream images take over your imagination while reminding yourself of your lucidity if you can. and participate little by little in the dream with awareness like seeing, hearing, feeling. before you know it, you should be in a real dream but you have to remember to reality check everytime you wake up.

if you don't, you could get some pretty annoying results.

Suprisingly often you will be dreaming that you are in bed trying to WILD. For this, you just have to find a signal that tells you when you might be dreaming. For me, I never feel sleep paralysis. Instead, I use a different signal. I use the V-WILD, and when my visualizations start taking a mind of their own (meaning I don't consciously keep them going) and I feel my dream body moving in the coarse of the events, then I know I can open my eyes and most usually find myself in a dream.

Whenever I WILD I always, always, always, RC before opening my eyes. If it succeeds then it's safe to "open" your eyes. If not, just start up another attempt.

That's for straight WILDs of course. With those you're more likely to start off the dream laying in your bed. If you're like me, you'll barely notice the transition, and it might seem like you've failed, but that feeling you mentioned, the one where you think you should open your eyes, is usually a good prompt to RC. If you're lucky, you'll be dreaming.

If you're trying a method like V-WILD, the previous suggestions should work. I've only had a few V-WILDs and most of those have been purely accidental, so I don't have too much experience as far as that's concerned. But the ideas seem sound.

If you're more of the traditional WILDing type like I am, you can just ride it out until all of your hallucinations/hi stop. Always do a reality check if you are in your room. My dream room looks exactly the same as my real room.
if you can read this then you are about to be punched
