It is, but, I think even if you get SP when you go to bed, not too sure if you'll be able to enter a REM cycle. I've been trying the same things you guys are doing and found that I get pre SP much faster if I exercise a couple of hours before bed, but, even then, I haven't fully experienced SP :P My advice is to wake up a couple of hours after sleeping and trying to WILD then. I had this kind of experience and when I woke up and was partially awake, I saw all these pretty patterns with my eyelids closed which meant that if I stayed awake for a couple more minutes, I might have succeeded :P
