      Problem attaining a WILD

So, i have a large problem. (more like huge)
for a whole entire year i have been ATTEMPTING, Wild. and it has led to the same thing.
Failure, and i ATTRIBUTE it all to one thing, though it may be false, but i have been gulping. its like when you get phlem in the back of your throat. and have to swallow it. (now the natural reply is DON'T swallow it then). well the problem with that is i start choking, atleast i think so. it feels like the phlem gathers in the back there and i just cant breathe. now the next thing is to just not care and swallow (which some say is okay) but what then happens is i'm gulping every second.

Some simple things to get out of the way are
      A) i do not do this gulping thing when in normal life. only when i attempt to WILD
      B) i have thought its a nocebo, but if it was, wouldnt realizing that it's a nocebo make it non effective against me?
      C) i do my WILD's as soon as i go to bed.

(im using nocebo non medically, aka not a actual substance, but a thought)

      any possible fixes?

Don't WILD as soon as you go to bed. Also, for the gulping, sleep sideways?

Don't do your wilds right before bed for starters you have almost no chance of success due to your when your rem cycles happen, I'm learning to wild as well and have not yet been successful but I have been sooo close like to a part where I felt an intense acceleration feeling and could feel a dream forming then my son woke me up and other times I've been right on the edge of it as well only to have somthing wake me up.

BUT maybe you should try looking into deild before you try the traditional wild which is pretty much a really fast wild I have done them a couple times there are plenty of good tutorials on the forum about it

      Hi,

The problem might be the fact that you do WILDs as soon as you go to bed
Without WBTB WILDs are hard as heck, with WBTB it will be much much more easier and quite more possible to succeed for you.

Aswell i suggest you reading up those threads:

Just think about other things. I have developed a method that I call the mind-tether method. Imagine your mind as some object, like a sports ball or a dog or whatever. When you are conscious you are holding it with your hands and directing it towards things. When you are dreaming, it is off wandering on its own doing whatever it wants. With my method, I keep it on a tether. So I have this thing kind of like a dream where I'm not really conscious and I forget my real senses, but my consciousness is still there and I can stop this dream whenever I want.
I'm not sure how to induce it as I invented it purely out of imagination and I don't know how it works, but I'll try to explain. I just sit back, picture a scenario, an action I'm doing, and then let my mind slip into it. And I just kind of watch it play out. I'm not sure how I keep myself from completely going to sleep but I do.

      Or you could just either:
      1. Try to forget about it; think about other things. Visualize a scenario and visualize all your senses. Then do something, like walk around.
      2. Wait as long as you can bear it between each gulp.
      Birds of the night..
