Question Ringing in my ears while attempting WILD

I've noticed that almost every time I attempt a WILD, this same thing happens to me. Probably about 10 minutes into my WILD once my body is relaxed, I start to get this ringing in my ears. I found a thread from quite a few years ago with someone who very accurately described the ringing sound that I get:

Quote Originally Posted by lemmefly View Post

After a wile the sound turns into something that is more like ringing, I would describe it as a vibrating sound wave. I then just let this get louder and more intense until I can feel my body vibrating and hear this really loud ringing.
Afterwards I just wait until it stops again and just stand up with my non-physical body in a copy of my bedroom.

The vibrations and sound are basically trigger and indicator at the same time. After the vibrations fade off, you might think that you are still just laying there with your physical body and actually miss the opportunity of just entering the LD. I had that happen to me a couple of times before I realized that I was in an LD already and didnt have to wait for anything else after that.

My success rate with this is pretty low though, I can do this maybe once every 2 weeks and usually only with WBTB.

      Hope that helps.
I have never had a successful WILD, however I do feel like I have gotten close. Usually I can't get past the ringing sound, but a couple times I have started to feel the vibrations at the peak of the ringing noise. So my question is, does anyone else get this ringing sound while attempting to WILD, and has it led to a successful WILD? Thanks!

A lot of people have probably experienced the ringing their ears when WILDing. Everyone's different when it comes to the transition process.

I couldn't find anything about ears ringing in that thread. I was just hoping to find some other people that get this same form of hallucination, as I am having trouble "making the final leap" to actually complete my WILD. I feel like every time I try to WILD I just hit a wall that I can't seem to get past. I guess I will just have to keep trying and experimenting until I figure it out

I think I know what you're referring to. I can hear a certain "sound" when it is completely quiet. Almost like a wierd swooosh-sound. When I concentrate on it, it gets louder and louder until it surrounds me. No idea what this is though?

Sometimes, yes. On my first succesfull WILDs, besides feeling vibrations, i heard a sound. Kinda like the sound you hear after you'be been in a loud concert. But now i don't hear it in my WILDS. But yes, that sound is normal.

Yes I do, My ears are always quietly ringing but during a WILD attempt I feel the ringing become much louder and I start to feel a weight on my chest, it is part of the transition process for me going into a WILD and I would assume that it is similar for you, it could be a good sign that you are getting close to a WILD. Often I will be repeating my mantra looking for a MILD and I will feel a ringing in my ears or start getting some hypnagogic images and then I start fully committing to the WILD. As AstralMango said though everyone is different when it comes to the WILD transition which explains why people may not get ringing in their ears or they may seem to have other sensations that you may never of experienced (e.g. sleep paralysis)

For me the ringing turns into static after some time and gets louder, then I feel my inner-ears swelling up which makes me pretty much deaf and then I start hearing hallucinations and stuff like wasps...
If you read this do a reality check, you will thank me later...

I rarely ever hear a ringing, but it does happen sometimes. I heard a loud ringing last night, though, when attempting to WILD within a dream. :O

Sometimes I hear a noise before the vibrating, sometimes I hear a rushing noise during the vibrating, but sometimes no noise at all. I've only succeeded at WILDing once, and that time I heard all sorts of noises as I entered a lucid dream, as I watched and listened to a world being formed around me. I hope it happens again some day.
