After about 2 months I finally had my first LD. It only lasted for about 10 seconds, but I think the way I induced it was pretty weird and I'd like to share it with you guys
Spoiler for dream:
After about 6 hours of sleep, I decided to try WILD once again. Unfortunately, I lost awereness and my mind fell asleep. However, a non-lucid dream started in which I was actually trying to do WILD. In the dream I couldn't fall asleep because I was too awake. Then some random guy stepped up to me and handed me a bottle of sleeping pills. I thanked him and took one. I instantly felt I was getting sleepy. I think I became (more) aware at that moment, but I didn't realize I was dreaming yet. (Is that possible? Maybe a result of the ADA I've been practising.) I thought to myself: 'Nice, I'm sure I'll be able to WILD now'. (Keep in mind this all hapened in that same non-lucid.) And I did! I 'woke up' in my living room and performed a reality check; I was dreaming. I tried to stabilize the dream by rubbing my hands together and to study a nearby object, but I couldn't do that because it was too dark in the room. I flipped the light switches and the lamps didn't turn on. At first I was like 'wtf?' but then I realized electronics don't work properly in dreams. So I walked up to the window and tried to make it daytime. I tried this by turning around, closing my eyes, and think of it being daytime. It did not work. After that, the only thing I remember is waking up.
Pretty awesome, right? Did anyone else ever experience something like this, a WILD attempt on a False Awakening?
I do have a question, tough:
Although I was lucid, and it felt like I had full control over my body, I did not do the things I had initially planned to do when i would become lucid. For example: I had planned to do everything slowly and carefully. I would rub my hands for a good ten seconds and really try to feel the objects around me. However, in the dream I did everything very quickly and I think I only rubbed my hands for about 2 seconds. What could be the cause of this? Was I not aware enough to do everything 'my way'?
