Question Having trouble starting a dream scene...

I'm SO close to successfully getting a WILD. When I close my eyes I begin to see bright lights in the back of my eye lids, and my body feels numb. But I cant start a dream scene using the bright lights. Ill try to think of something to do when that's happening and let my mind drift off but it just wont form a dream scene... I've been attempting Wild off and on for the past 2 months and have finally decided to make an account and ask you why cant I seem to form a dream scene. Its pretty frustrating. Ive looked all over the internet and haven't found an answer.

Here is a couple of things:

      1. Not everybody is great at visualizing. I can't do it either. But I have noticed, that after I just start thinking about my previous day, or something else, it will start turning into images when I'm close to falling asleep. Usually it's something else than what I was thinking about. But that's ok, since your goal was to kick-start the dreaming process.

Just don't force it. Let your mind wander.

      2. If you do this before any prior sleep, you may not get any images and dreams, untill you in REM. So it's best to WILD after 4.5 hrs of sleep, so REM is really close to the time when you actually fall asleep. I know you can dream in NREM, but REM dreams are preferred.

      3. Even if you done everything right, you don't always see your dreams form. Sometimes you get different indication of WILD being near. Like vibrations, feeling of falling, sinking, flying, or you can see your room.

It's best not to pay too much attention to these, just observe them passively. Here is an article about some sensations or HH and how to use them to enter LD. http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...ntry-wild.html

And here is an excellent, very detailed WILD (sageous) guide, that I recommend to any LDer. WILD Happy dreams

Hey Gab, related to sscheaper's question, when I start doing WILD, I often get those little specks and dots and lights and stuff; but I can't control them when I try. For example, I read if you play around with these, you can make them form squares, or circles, or more complex forms, and by playing with them, you can get them to turn into dreams (I guess these are a form of HH). The problem is, I can never get them to change at will! They always change shapes on their own, often just staying a swirl of lights, etc. Any suggestions for controlling them?

I'm not sure the specks of light are HH. They could be just random things happening when you close your eyes. I have heard that we can even see some proteins floating in the eyes and flashes couldbe produced by optic nerves. Somebody may be able to explain them better.

HH is normally when you close your eyes, and first you see some grey and black fog swirling around. As you get closer to falling asleep, you may see some images that get progressively more focused and detailed, untill you may see photographs or movies in high definition. The movies are already dreams that had formed and since you are still awake, you can enter them consciously and be in a lucid dream. But you don't always get to see them.

Some people do like to play with HH. And of course, you can try that too. As long as you know, that they are best observed passively, if your goal is to enter lucid dream. if you pay too much atention to them, it may get you too excited. But if you decide that you just wanna experiment with them, that could be tons of fun too. But you should wait untill those specks of light turn into HH, before trying to controll them. At least, that's my understanding of this.
