I'm not sure, but I feel that if you sleep deprived for that long, first chance you get to sleep you will just pass out into deep sleep. To WILD, you need to be sleepy enough to fall asleep easily, but alert enough, so you don't fall asleep too fast. You have to have the mental presence of bringing yourself to verge of sleep, but not to fall asleep, until your dreams are ready for you.
I'm not trying to knock your experiment. But same thing (going straight to REM) can be achieved with WBTB. You wake up after enough sleep, so next time you fall asleep you go practically straight into REM. And WBTB wakes up your mind just enough to be able to stay awake until ready to enter a dream.
If you have some free time in the morning, another great method is morning nap.
This is from LaBerges's sleep study:
Getting up an hour early, staying awake for an hour or more reading about lucid dreaming, doing MILD briefly, then taking a morning nap is an excellent means of achieving lucid dreams. This technique is one of the most powerful, promising means of achieving lucidity.
