I was laying in my bed relaxed then those colours appeared, so In my head, I went "HELL YES!" so I continued to stare at the colours and think "I'm going to be aware, I'm going to become lucid." Then 3 minutes later the colours went away... |

Sounds like you just got too excited and that moved you back towards wakefulness. Excitement is good prior to your WILD attempt to help motivate you, but during the attempt excitement can be your enemy. A WILD is never something you can force to happen. Calm always wins in the end. |

Part of WILD is mental gymnastics. You have to remain simultaneously relaxed and peaceful, with your mind completely open to the idea of a dream forming, while still maintaining awareness so that you don't lose lucidity. Don't get too excited - passively observe, while remaining open to the possibility that they may turn into dreamlets... or that they may not. WILD takes patience and practice, just keep trying. Remember that you have several tries a night once you learn to wake up between REM cycles. |

One of the advantages of learning how to lucid dream is that it also teaches one patience. |
|
You shouldn't get too excited. |

Sounds like you became too awake during hypnagogic state, as everyone said, be calm and keep your cool next time you'll get to this state, then you should be able to reach transition phase if everything goes right! |
