Will DEILD work even if you don't wake up directly from a dream |
|
Well, personally I've never had a DEILD, but I think this is how it works. You can only perform a DEILD after you wake up from a dream, that is why it is called a Dream Exit Induced Lucid Dream. You train yourself to not move after you wake up and keep your eyes closed and everything in the exact position. Supposedly if you can do that you will go back into another dream in a very short period of time. That is just what I think, so I'll be looking to see if someone has a more "official" answer. |

On my last (and first) DEILD I didn't remember a dream before, |
|
You could have simply forgotten it. You don't have to remember the previous dream in order to DEILD. All you need to do is be able to wake up at the beginning or during a REM period and then quickly return to sleep. I don't normally remember my previous dream when I DEILD because as soon as I wake up I'm anticipating the next dream. |

^what he said. I actually DEILD'ed this morning.i remembered the previous dream too, actually. It must depend on the perso. And how much you want to remember it. On reason I di. Is because I was still trying to complete the TotM, and I was still in the same place. That's what happens when i DEILD,i end up in the same place. |

If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

I also DEILDed today - only after a lucid dream. |

Dream Exit Induced Lucid Dreaming is just that... when you awaken from a dream in the middle of the night. It works best if you can remember the dream you just had as it is fresh in your mind and incorporated images that can easily be visualized. Is remembering your dream required? Let me put it this way... when has a dream awakened you in the middle of the night where you did not remember the dream at least for a few seconds? |
|
So I woke up from a dream this morning and I lied perfectly still for a few minutes and nothing happened... what did I do wrong? |

DEILD can be used even in a current dream you are in and you continue into a different scene while walking towards a door or just fading and re-fading into another dream. |
|
If you use a mantra to wake up you will almost always wake up during a rem period, if you are using an alarm you might not, but it doesn't really matter because you will probably just fall asleep if you don't enter a lucid. |
|
But will I always wake up from a LD? |
