Is This the right way to WILD?

Well i was watching Giz Edwards guide to the WILD technique and he came up with the stop drop and roll method.

Stop: Put your hand above your head (while laying down with your eyes closed of course) to build up tension for another rollover signal.
Drop: Drop your hands down to your sides when the rollover signal is very strong.
Roll: Once you get another strong rollover signal then roll over to your side.

after explaining that he explained how the body induces waking sleep paralysis (the body sending signals to the brain to move a muscle)
He said the body induces sleep paralysis when you don't respond to a rollover signal.

This is where i got confused because in the stop drop and roll method you are responding to roll over signals.. Soooo Yeah very confused right now on how WILD with the stop drop and roll method is done.

I have heard the name of it, from people reading it on other websites. I have no experience with it personally. I also think, that there are better ways to WILD, since this involves first you learning to get into SP. But SP should not be a goal in lucid dreaming.

We all get SP after we start to dream. If you experience it before or after a dream, it's a disorder. Most of the people never experience it, so to try to induce something out of order is not a good way to go, in my opinion.

You absolutely do NOT need SP to WILD.

Here is a great WILD (sageous) tutorial you can read through. It will explain the whole process in great detail so you will actually understand what you doing and why. Please ask if you need help with anything. Happy dreams

I looked at the video. He is hard to understand. I watched till he says that you need SP to WILD. Well, no, you don't. Hundreds of people on this site are a proof of that.

Here is about SP. Sleep paralysis explained

SP happens naturally for all of us. We get it when dreaming, so we don't act out our dreams and get hurt. Some people have a disorder, either chronic (they have it often), or just 1-2 times in a lifetime. Those who have it often, can use it to their advantage to WILD or OBE.

But if you are like most of us, getting into SP is an extra and unnecessary step which has no benefits for you and it's not easy to do.

If you wanna try it out, by all means. Have you read the comments he got on that video? Those could be an indication if this is the best method out there. Happy dreams

And his comment that without it it's just a WBTB.
Well, yes. That's all you need. WBTB and a good WILD technique.

Looks like you are in luck. Someone with his name just registered so you may get an answer directly from the source.

I think the idea of a WILD involving Sleep Paralysis if anything serves as a distraction for the dreamer. It teaches the dreamer to prepare and wait anxiously for some extraordinary state of consciousness that is expected to carry you off into a dream at will. And so when the dreamer starts feeling strange sensations and vibrations he starts to panic and think "This is my chance! Sleep Paralysis!" and at the point he lost any possibility of achieving the WILD. The WILD is achieved by a conscious redistribution of attention to something other than the sensations that precede the transition while at the same time maintaining a steady intent to recognize the transition once it takes place. It's kind of like the idea that only way to focus on everything is to first focus on nothing. And it is good to be noted that the WILD is a very subject experience in which everyone has their own technique that works best for them and what works for one might not work for the other.
