      WILD attempts lead me to awaken dazed.

      Hello everyone,

      I am new to lucid dreaming and have been attempting WILDs, so far none have been successful (i think). I notice that when I get far into the attempt and am just on the edge of entering a dream I will wake up, and everything seems very dreamlike for a little bit. I do some RCs to see if im experiencing a false awakening and they always fail, so i conclude that I am actually awake, but for 10 to 15 minutes after awakening i become daze, dizzy, numb and extremely paranoid, and will be startled very easily by the things that usually comfort me most(i.e. my dog). Has anyone ever experienced something similar, or is it unusual. This makes me scared of what might happen if i do actually attain lucidity.

      Hmm this is interesting. I've never had it happened to me, though. Could it be that since you are attempting WILD, you have gone through the relaxation phase. And when your attempt fails, you're mind is still in the relaxing bit, where it's still kinda dream-like and serene. So maybe that's why normal things startle you in this period, because your mind is still very very relaxed, and any stimulus can jolt it.

      Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
