      wake induced dreaming; no lucidity

i haven't been on this forum for a long time, trying to perfect my technique of wake induced lucid dreaming. however, i seem to be unable to enter the dream lucid. anyways, basically, i can go from a wake state to a dreaming state, but during that transition, i lose lucidity. for example, when i was on vacation to italy, i went to a museum sat down for a while, and put my leg up on the chair in front of me. i woke up, and then i realized that my foot was firmly planted on the ground... i can enter a dream directly from a waking state, but i can't seem to enter it lucidly. anyways, this is basically what i do... tell me if im doing something wrong here...

i count backwards from 100 VERY slowly... going one number down every inhale and exhale... at one point, counting backwards becomes extremely difficult, as my mind wanders around. at that point, i give up trying to count backwards, and just let my mind go wherever it wants to go, and that becomes my dream... during this transition, i don't maintain lucidity... someone help?

Based on your post it seems as you've done everything right. In my opinion there isn't any right or wrong way in WILDing, each individual is different. The fact that you transitioned into the dreamstate conciously, means that you at least were lucid at that point. (When you realised your foot was on the ground)

There can be many reasons you didn't have that "lucid feeling". I don't know which questions to ask, cause there are many. But i'll go with these two

What happened after transition? Details, if any?

How did the dreamstate feel? Control, Colors, Senses, Awareness?

      Greetings, Tucane

well, i realized my foot was on the ground, not on the chair ahead of me when i woke up. I dreamed that i put my foot on the chair, and i thought that was real, and i didn't realize that was a dream. i only realized that i didn't after i woke up.

idk how to describe the dream state, as i wasn't lucid at all. also, sometimes i lose time. i do what i stated before, but instead of going into a dream, it seems like i am awake and conscious the entire time. and then when i open my eyes, several hours have passed. obviously, i have been asleep the entire time, but i thought i was conscious... its really weird.

Okay, I think i've got it. I'll try a short explanation.

Your "leg thing" is a hallucination created by lack of visual and sensory input (eyes closed, body asleep). This happens every now and then during WILDing, intentional or not.

Try to make a scenario out of those hallucinations, including the rest of your body and as many of your senses as possible. Make it your daydream and you will be lucid in short.

      Best of luck, Tucane
