My Eyelids Seem to be Working Against Me

Last night, I think I came the closest I ever have to a successful WILD, which wasn't really very close. I went under sleep paralysis, which was pretty cool, and I started seeing some colors, but nothing really spectacular. I suddenly saw some images forming, and I thought it might be a dream. Then I realized that it was my surroundings. My eyes had opened themselves without my command. I thought it was totally weird, and I had to pull myself out of sleep paralysis because I couldn't seem to close them again. Is this normal at all? Because I've fallen out of attempts at a WILD before, but this one was definitely the most annoying.

In my attempts to attain lucidity using the WILD technique this has also happened to me. At first I thought something cool was happening like see through eyelids.. but sadly it wasn't. So I would say that this is pretty normal. My advice focus on keeping your eyelids closed a little bit more than you normally would.

This is fairly normal in sleep paralysis. I heard from somewhere that if your eyes twitch or try to open themselves during sleep paralysis you should wear a sleep mask. The mask will add some light pressure to your eyes and keep them closed for you. Another benefit is it will keep the light blocked out. You should try it out.

If that doesn't work, perhaps you could just relax and let it happen. It's not usually a good idea to put your attention towards fighting against sleep paralysis. Maybe you were actually opening your eyes to your dream world. Just a thought.

I'll have to try that if I can get a hold of one. And yeah, I was really hoping it was a dream at the time, but something told me it wasn't. Next time I'll just let it do it's thing though.
