Okay sometimes, when I try to WILD, I'll wake up in the morning and try it, (i won't get out of bed, i'll do it straight away)
and I will lay there, il start counting to 100 to keep myself awake, i'll get to 15 or so before i end up falling asleep for a few seconds, when i wake up, i'll rollover automaticly.
it's so frustrating lol if i dont fall alseep.. il lay there and get nowhere
i can just never get to SP, i find it impossible. why is this?
Try just getting out of bed to get a drink/go to the bathroom etc.
Im not exactly the most qualified (0 LDs), but nearly every guide ive seen recommends getting out of bed for a small time, or else you just drop straight off to sleep again
Maybe a more experienced lucid dreamer can give a better answer

Update: I did a WBTB last night. For the first time, I decided to actually get out of bed, got a drink, waited about 5 minutes, went back to sleep.
It got me my 1st WILD effortlessly (falling asleep was hard cos i was excited)
Getting up for a little definately made a difference for me
Well, definetly do what kurlie said, do get up for a minute or two. But the counting i think is a no go. It's boring and i does just that-keeps you awake. The counting is a type of what is called an anchor. You may already know this but ill say it just in case. An anchor is what keeps you awake while you enter the dream. Or if your good at visualization you could do that.Quote:

Well, Before I went to sleep, I thought about what my dream scene was going to be (all 5 senses), then I set my alarm for about 5 hours after I fell asleep. I got up for a few minutes and said affirmations as I induced SP. Next thing I know im sitting up in my bed and I do a RC. It suceeds and I fly off, summon dragons etc.Quote:

If you add a word or two in between the numbers, like "this is a dream,, one ,,, this is a dream,,, two,,,
then you are doing a very intense DILD program at the same time as your WILD, so you may still gat a MILD out of it if you do pass out and sleep normally.
^This. When my mind wanders when counting (your mind should wander, if it doesn't you're not falling asleep) if I try to remember where I got to then it seems to take so much effort that I can't be bothered to keep counting, sometimes I forget why I was even counting in the first place!Quote:

well. For me lieing still doesnt work.i read in yoshi's guide that u can change position every 10 minutes.for me it worked.i entered sp both times tried. But the thing is that my breathing goes out of rythm and i wake up.

You can shift position if you are too uncomfortable, but should avoid it if you can. My caution is that you never move into an actaully comfortable position. If you lay in your normal sleep posistion, sure it is more comfortable, that is why you should avoid it. It becomes way to easy to fall asleep for real.Quote:
