WILD during naps in the day not working

For the past couple of days, I've been trying to wild during naps in the day, I just lie on my back and don't move at all, and I get as far as not being able to really feel my hands. And when ever I try to imagine what it is I want to dream it ends going on without me having to think about it, but that's as far as I've gotten. What am I doing wrong? Or am I just being to impatient?

First of all, have you had a WILD before. If not, do a WBTB. If you have, just do what you normally do. How long do you take? Remember, you're falling asleep, you make sure you're sufficianlty tired, which for me is harder in naps. Try to imagine an activity like bike riding. Actually feel the wind, and the resistance. Use all the senses to create the most vivid dream possible, and you will be 'sucked' into it. At that point it won't be just a vision, but youll be a part of it and your in a dream. It is easiest to do it when you feel that you could just put your head on the pillow and pass out.

WILD during naps only works for some time after you have woken up. So naps at morning will be much more successful than in the afternoon or evening. Has probably something to do with REM.

Are you close to sleep? Let yourself drift into sleep more during your nap. You have to fall asleep to successfully WILD.

I was thinking about what you're saying.

I take naps some times, but I never take them trying to attempt dreaming. I take my naps when I am genuinely tired, which usually happens a bit after noon and again around four or five in the afternoon. Having the need to sleep makes it so much easier to attempt this.

I have kids, so finding a quiet place during the day is hard. I don't bother. If I'm sleepy I just sit back on the sofa, right there in the living room with the TV on, and drift off to sleep. The input from my surroundings often helps keep me aware but when I don't move and let myself drift towards sleep the noises make it easy to slip into WILD, or even just some random nifty dreams that end up as DILD.

What I'm saying is attempting to do this when your body doesn't want to makes it harder to achieve the LD, or even sleep. If your body is ready to sleep attempting WILD becomes a million times easier.

This works well with WBTB attempts also.

Ive never had a successful WILD during an afternoon nap but the experience i gained was invalueable. When i first started i would get to imagery then become excited and wake my self up with thoughts. Then about a week after attempting them every day i got to the transition feeling which i thought was hypnic jerk but it was the transition feeling i get during my WILDs without a REM cycle to fall into. The technique i refined during afternoon naps is the same i use during WBTB and the practice gained during make for a quick learning curve.

This is just my experience with them i do not know if this is normal but i just wanted to add my experiences in hope it may help you. Good luck!

Check this out, it may help you.

It's been suggested to me by a very helpful person on here, the least I can do is spread the word of it.
