I've posted before (as my first ever post, when I joined about 10 days? ago)
about trying to WILD... I've had a fair few DILDs

I'll get to the HI coloured visuals, 'buzzy' feelings, and 'auditory disconnection'
... (My soothing Ipod track muffles to 'white noise' roar.. with 'cotton wool stuffed head' feeling)

... I still can't make the final jump...I've had suggestions about imagining a smell etc.. But I've had a crazy idea, going one step further, would this help??

I'm thinking that when I get to the HI stages, I should visualise not only (as suggested ...just a smell..).. But instead an entire scene, that engages as many senses as possible..

So... I was thinking that a good transition 'visualisation' from HI to full lucid scene...
(Correct where I'm wrong)... Should...
  • Distract you from the waking world
  • Give your mind a dream scene to goto after the full transition
  • Keep your mind actively engaged, with a small amount of effort (so not be on autopilot), but isnt too taxing.
  • Should engage as many senses as possible to pull your focus fully into the dream!

Hows about 'visualising' something like waving a sparkler at a firework display as example..
SIGHT - The fireworks
SMELL - The bonfire & spent fireworks..
HEAR - The fizzing and the bangs of the other fireworks
FEEL - Sparkler in hand & warm bonfire

The other one I was thinking about was..

Well.. You're disconnecting your focus from waking body/world to your dream body/world...
So lets get symbolic (& reinforce the idea at the same time!!...) Your 'breaking the circuits'

Hows about "Pulling twist-release fuses from a large panel in front of me.."
See - The task in hand, then the blue flash every time I pull a fuse
Hearing - The electrical 'snap' as I break the circuit
Feel - The round ridged plastic holder in my fingers
Smell - That strong electrical Ozone smell..
(yeh its tragic I know!! .. but can relate in waking world, only mostly normally unpowered!!)

....And 'playing with live fuses' explains away physical buzzy sensations
