      What happened? SP

I'm not exactly sure if this is the appropriate place, so my apologies if it's not and I'd request it moved if so.

I've made a similar thread in the past but it was a wall of text and no one responded, so I thought I'd construct a more simple post getting to the heart of it.

A few years ago I tried inducing SP, on my side and as far as I can remember before bed (I know this is a cardinal sin that has a poor success rate and dreary results) and it seemed to have kind of worked. I can't really say because I haven't mastered WILDing or any other technique, basically failing on and off for years.

Basically, I felt very weird, my hands were very uncomfortable (mostly because they were underneath my head or other places) and it felt like my mouth was going to overflow with saliva but nothing came of it, I wasn't seriously paralyzed and figured I'd failed and gave up.

So I went to sleep normally and for around 2 weeks afterwards my usual sleep was turned on it's head by a single insanely vivid and clear LD followed by constant poor quality LDs, false awakenings and waking sleep paralysis. I have to admit, it was pretty crazy.

The clear LD was amazing and the low quality LDs were confusing, the false awakenings threw me for a loop constantly and the waking sleep paralysis was intense with crazy hallucinations.

Recently I've been trying to replicate this simply by trying to attain SP when I go to bed for the night, the goal not being to induce anything really but to trigger what I'd experienced the first time and open pandora's box in an attempt to create a crazy shortcut. However, I never get the same symptoms like I did that time and nothing crazy triggered like that time.

What happened? It almost seems like something went horribly wrong, it was surreal but really quite interesting.

      Misc info:
      Spoiler for Click:

Tl;dr version - Attempted to SP before bed, failed and went to bed normally, was thrown into craziness for 2 weeks with constant LDs, false awakenings and intense sleep paralysis complete with hallucinations, a few years later and I can't replicate it

I feel your pain Only thing I can replicate, is WBTB WILD. But even then they are not identical, in fact, the experiences can differ greatly.

Each time I stumbled into something cool and tried to do it again, something else ended up happening, could not do any of it again the same way, no matter how hard I tried. Some people say, that when you stop trying hard, that's when it happens.

The LDs you got were DILDs or WILDs? Are you practicing any technique? Dream journal? How is your dream recall?

Time sure does fly, sorry I didn't report back sooner work had me tied up all week.

They were a little bit of both, the very clear and amazing LD was a DILD I suppose. I was having a regular dream and it tore apart almost like an old film reel and I found myself in an old abandoned room and my hands were put out in front of me and I felt (and seen) a huge tremor and I was completely lucid it was crazy. The rest as far as I can recall were WILDs but It's hard to tell since most of them were false awakenings and it was hard to differentiate between false awakenings and just waking up paralyzed to crazy hallucinations.

At the time I wasn't really practicing anything and this was just a half baked attempt at inducing SP which failed, and led up to all of this. I did not keep a journal at the time and I don't really remember what my dream recall was like.

These days, I'm pretty much just trying to experiment with SP before going to sleep for the night seeing If I can't replicate the fluke. I'm keeping a journal now but my dream recall is terrible and I'm not putting as much effort into it as I could be, I'm also trying to WBTB and WILD here and there but my willpower after waking up is proving to be pathetic, haha. :/

It's always eating away at me, how a failed WILD attempt before bed could result in a 2 week roller coaster like that.
