WILDing with music?
I tried it in a nap this afternoon (about 5 hours after I had woken up). I got really numb after the first 5-6 songs. After about the 7th, I swear I saw some weird electrical thing go across the darkness in my eyelids in a split second. Also after about the 8th or 9th song in, I felt very faint tingling in my body (oncoming SP?). But then my eyes unexpectedly flickered and then my leg jerked. I decided that was enough for that nap anyway.
So I found that that the music helped me to be aware, as well as daydream a bit.
So, what do you think? (If you want to know, I listened to Pandora on my iPhone. The stations were a QuickMix between Skillet, Dance Cardio, Pop and Hip Hop Power Workout, and Linkin Park Radios)
Oh yeah, and I would basically focus on the sound.

I've actually wondered this from time to time--if music could be something you could focus on. I think most music (especially energetic music, or music with lyrics) will leave you too aware to fall asleep and WILD. After all, you have to sleep to WILD. You may have begun SP, but from the sound of your sensations, it's very possible you were just very relaxed.
If you want to listen to music, it should probably be quiet, relaxing, and possibly fade out after a certain amount of time. White noise or theta wave soundtracks are good too.

What about classical music?

Classical music is probably a good middle ground. I would suggest listening to something like Moonlight Sonata over Entry of the Gladiators or something.
Music could give the right balance of awareness when falling asleep...but if it's still playing during the transition, that might be distracting. (This is just hypothesis--I've never actually tried it out.) I know that when I fall asleep normally while listening to music, there comes a point where the music is too distracting and I take off my headphones. But the distraction might be just what you need for a WILD.

Okay thanks! I'll try the classical music right now - see if I can go farther than what I did earlier.
Edit: Ah well, I don't have any time now so I'll try it tonight definetly.
