      WILD Attempt Failed?

Okay, so I wanted to experience a lucid dream so I tried the WILD technique and the Sleep Back to Bed one as well. I woke up after about 6 hours(alarm clock) and did some things around the house for 20 minutes as it said and awoke (also went to the bathroom). Then I went to bed and turned on Lucid Dream binaural beats and listened to them completely still for 45 minutes. After it stopped I felt this really strange feeling as if I was light as a feather and someone lifted me and then dropped me back. I also felt like my body was numb and couldn't move it, although I didn't try to because I thought it would ruin the attempt. I started thinking of dreamscenes at that point in the highest clarity I could think of focusing on the most minor details but I noticed that I couldn't keep to one scene at all, it like kept switching for some reason, did I do something wrong? I decided to persevere a little bit and then my heart started acting up a LOT like, screaming at me and I thought I stopped breathing. I figured that I might be transitioning into a dream state like I read before but then it stopped. But then I felt like nothing was happening and tried to imagine a dream scene but couldn't focus on the clarity at all. I ended up just moving around dissapointed after nothing happened for a while and fell asleep normally.

Sorry for all the text, I felt it was necessary to include everything. Is there something I did wrong? Thank you in advance!

By the way, some people report seeing shapes and stuff but I didn't see any of that. Did I concentrate too hard? D:

Looks like you were well on your way to a WILD. The scene switching can be part of HI. Your brain pulls up random images and memories so it's like being in the middle of several short dream scenes. The racing heart is also typical. If this was one of your first times, you might have just overanalyzed during the transition. Keep trying, and if you find you simply cannot keep your visualizations focused, the visualization technique might not be the best for you. But keep trying to focus on the five senses you would feel in a dream world. Oftentimes the sensations in your body and your brain's HI will keep distracting you from staying focused. Basically, relax, visualize, and try to slip into the dream. Congrats on getting to the transition stage! Good luck.
