Question How was my first WILD attempt?

I decided to take a break from my DILD attempts since I couldn't recreate my first LD, and I figure if I can learn to successfully WILD the other techniques might become easier because I'll know the ropes better.

I got roughly 9 hours of sleep and woke up, I then realized I could sleep in even longer since I had nothing to do so I went to the bathroom and returned to bed.

When I laid back down, I tried my best to focus on just getting back to bed and a little focus on remaining conscious. A mild tingling sensation started creeping from my feet and eventually made it's way throughout my entire body. All of my limbs felt very heavy as I continued to lay still, although I didn't check to see if I even could move them. I began visualizing a dream scene and what I should be wearing in the scene but I never entered what I was visualizing. This got very intense as my heart started pounding and I got the sensation of rolling around or falling in circles.

How was this first attempt? Was I experiencing or close to experiencing sleep paralysis?

Also, did I sleep for too long before my attempt? I couldn't exactly enter a "full" sleeping state. Was this because my room was so bright?

Any enlightenment is much appreciated! I feel I've made some progress this morning either way, but I'm dying to achieve lucidity once more!

Sounds like you were in sleep paralysis and pretty close to transitioning into a dream, but got too excited at the last moment due to all the crazy stuff that was going on.
Next time do the exact same thing and stay calm, remember not to try too hard!
